I love his playing - so different to Hawkins. Prez influenced so many musicians and not only tenor saxophonists e.g. listen to the more recent work of Lee Konitz.

Lester Young is in my opinion the most soulful sax-player in jazzhistory.

he died a few weeks before i was born, now i know nearly all of his beautiful records.

Pres always was thinking and playing against the mainstream and found his individualism.

one of the most important characters in music for ever.
