  • THE BLACK PANTHER DOESN'T EXIST? WTF? IF U SEE A PANTHER, AND IT'S BLACK, THEN U CALL IT, "A BLACK PANTHER." I bet If she was talking about a white leopard, she'd be singing another song...

  • Completely busted my bubble!!!...I've always loved them (majestic and commanding attention...and they're a myth all along???...hmph

  • @sablessaint73 Not so much a myth, just not a separate species like so many people believed, you can still call black leopards/jaguars black panthers but just know that they're leopards and jaguars :)

  • Question: Is it possible for a cougar to mate with a black jag or leopard? If so, how likely is it that the melanistic (...gene? trait? mutation?) would be passed to the offspring?

I live in Texas and for years people have sworn up and down that in the 80s someone had a "black panther" as a pet, which then escaped and mated with a cougar. I've never seen it, but reports of "black panther" sightings in our area are pretty common. Is this at all plausible?

  • One bad ass kitty

  • jack jack is meow is sooooo lovely :D

  • LOLLLLLLLL I FEEL YOU!!!!

  • Why be so damn scientific , If i see a "Black" Panther

Ima call it a damn black panther

She said black panthers dont exist WTF is that in the video ?

  • @goldgrills25 We were just trying to clear up the question we're always asked. Cougars that are also called panthers have never been recorded being black. There are just black leopards and black jaguars, along with the other species in this video.

  • Wow.... What a gorgeous cat.... just beautiful in everyway...

  • pet turkey? XD

  • lol @ 2:05

  • Bagheera! :)

  • this pale cougar doesn't know what she's talking about. Pretty sure they do exist.

  • was there a white one? wtf

  • who is this bitch? she just trying to diss the black panther movement! lmao you cant beleive everything white people tell you.

  • wait, was she trying to explain that a panther is not another breed of large cats? i thought it was common sense that they were just coat colors

  • it really is the lack leopard/jagur cuz of the spots ppl who dont get tht well u see wrong!

  • She has an annoying voice ,, couldn't even. Finish video!!!!

  • She's wrong. Panther is widely recognized as on of the many names for cougar. And I have had close relatives that have personally seen "black" varieties of them in the north MI wilds. Up until a few decades ago giant squid or the coelacanth were vehemently denied among the scientific community despite hundreds of sightings, (less so of the coelacanth), but know science confirms them. Trust me, every other fucking cat can be black, so can the mountain lion!

  • @quistan2 Are Lions black? NO!

  • or.... you can just release the animals back to the wild.

  • gorgeous creatures

  • Noooo! ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

    Those are black panthers!

(yes u_u I know they are leopards and jaguars but asdfghjklvbnmhj)

  • 1:23 black jaguar is so fat :D

  • No no no Jumanji was a board game!

  • All this stupid bimbo says is, "again, there is no evidence"..... Bitch stfu there is too evidence.

  • Fascinating!

  • This might be so but Baghera is a BLACK PANTHER.

  • What the fuck ?

Phantera EXIST , fuck you !!!!

No one can lie to me that phanters dont exist , they are right there !!

  • @yooBandit Panthers exist, but it's only a nickname that stuck for black leopards and black jaguars. It's like... white people exist but they're not their own species. They're called white, but they're just humans with a different skin pigment. Poor example, I know. Does that make sense, though? So, black 'panthers' are not their own species, which is why a real genuine panther does not exist. They're simply leopards/jaguars with a darker coloring.

  • way to take a hot shit on my hopes

  • My whole world of 'Panthers' has crashed and burned.

  • @xBandiitx exactly how I feel right now too...

  • I want one. I think they are the coolest of all cats

  • So what's a puma? So confused..

  • Comment removed

  • this is all well and good, but what about pink panthers? ;p

  • @candybitch Great question!!! :)))))))))

  • beautiful

  • Didnt say that purple panthers werent real. SKELETOR REPRESENT

  • 2:46 that made me laugh XD

  • Panthers are truely the most beautiful cats in the animal kingdom... Queit... yet charming. Full of beauty... yet full of mystery. Poise... yet dangerous. The calm... The cool... and the powerful.

  • I was riding a motorcycle on top of a mountian in eastern kentucky about 8 years ago. A black cat with along tail ran across the road. I got a very good look at the cat, I would guess the weigh between 60 to 80 pounds. About the same size as a boxer bulldog. Anyone ever rode top of those mountians knows I was riding slow it maybe 30ft away. Looked alot like a panther to me. maybe i was wrong, but I don't think so.

  • I want to pet one! :D

  • It's true, sometimes people say that there is a panther living in hiding in England. :)

  • wtf?.... now I doubt of everything I've ever learned!!!! ....

  • Kevin sent me.

  • THEY ARE SO CUTE <3

  • @Spritscake cute? u r an idiot, these mofos will rip u into millions pieces.

  • @mrbigtian Didn't say I was gonna hug em ;p

  • @Spritscake so u r not an idiot after all...XD

  • I don't see the problem with calling a black leopard a blank panther. It's SEMANTICS.....a rose by any other name and all that...all leopards could be called panther's if we simply wanted to rename them.

  • I knew Panthers were actually Leopards, How ever I did not know that they are Jaguars too. And you also said that their not Fully black. Now Ive seen tons of pictures(My favorite animal) and they seam all black to me, including the black spots. I guess Im wrong. Some good info though

  • @BigCatRescue Are you trying to confuse me more? Okay ill just call them a Black Panther.

  • To the person writing the story on shape shifters and using the black panther as the choice cat....A movie has already been done on them.....you may want to watch it, if you haven't already....The name of the movie is "Cat People" and it is a 1982 production.

  • If black panther cats are NOT their own species, then how come a lot of sports teams portray them as their mascot?

  • @marlyonama obviously those sport teams haven't seen this video.

  • i think there r realy such creatures as blackpanthers.....many thing in this world have not been discovered yet..

  • they are so sexy lol im writing a story on shape shifters and these are the cats of my choice

  • What do you call these? Black panthers, Pumas, Cougars??

  • @Pacemaker182 Black leopards or black jaguars.

  • @BigCatRescue i am just gonna call them panthers cuase thaats what they are

  • 2:26 meow

  • Informative, yet disappointing. :(

  • Jesus Christ lady, I just wanted to see the animal

  • 1:19 that is the fattest Jaguar I have ever seen!

  • awwww,i luv all cats..

  • I dont care, they 're just beautiful :)

  • My mind got blown :( But why is this is mystery? We should know more about this by now..

  • Ok but I can not find it:)

  • "black" or yellow, jaguars are my favorite animals :3

  • my family has seen two of them bout 15 minutes from where we live in tennessee ive only heard of one person seeing one in our area that was brown a police officer seen one in the river bottoms of the tennessee river a lot of people say they dont live here but ive heard them and my grandmother has talked bout seeing them from the time ive been little

  • north america has the puma and one of the many names it has is panther

  • We saw the black panther in southwest michigan, cass county. 5 min from the indiana state line.

  • My husband and I saw a black panther in 1991. It walked across the road infront of us very slowly with a childs shoe hanging out its mouth. I wouldguess 180-200 lbs, tail was 4-6 ft in length, very black, very shiny, this was in broad daylight, in a very rural area. We reported it to the police and homes close to where we saw it. I dont think anyone believed us but we KNOW what we saw. Scary to think these animals are out there in the wild.

  • kl video, mi cats called bageera he can shapeshift to a black panther if needs be, i really missing him left him in england with a friend, now sum white man had him sprayed, mi fault really i think someone mentioned it me i probably agreed without thinking what it meant, my heads all over the place again lately, i know what it fucking means now some white man felt jealous and threatened by even a black cats manhood so tried to even the score. i may have to get even paybacks a bitch the black

  • I learned something today..

  • I Have A Panther Tattooed On My Belly, And Posters Of Them All Over My Room, I Fucking Love Them! Live Long, Beautiful!

  • After Newton's release he attempted to steer the Black Panthers away from confrontations with police and toward community programs to build support for the party. Among the most well known of the Panthers' social programs was the program which provided free breakfasts to children.

  • just to straight things up: a panther is nothing, a black panther is just a name for any cat that is black. The difference between a jaguar and a leopard is the jaguar lives is south america and the leopard in africa and asia. The way to tell those apart is that jaguars have black rings with black spots in those rings on the fur. The leopard just has spots.

  • If panthers don't exist then why call it a "black panther?"

  • so its an african-american leopard.

  • Um wat lol

  • awww, that's a big kitty

    (:

  • U lost me at hello. Im all confussed..

  • 0:34 JUSTT A LITTLE BIT CLOSERRR...

  • ha...... some say different! I was dinner and escaped because the birds where going nuts and tipped me off...... New jersey

  • What's the difference between a leopard and a jaguar? The book I use for drawing references says they are two different species, but i don't see much to tell the two apart...

  • @Leafclan99 It's tricky to tell them apart, but if you look at the rosettes/spots you can see that the jaguar as a spot in the middle of the spot, but leopards do not. Jaguars are also a stockier build, hope this helps!

  • @BigCatRescue -Looks closer at the two pictures- ... Oh, I see it now. Thanks!

  • @Leafclan99 Also, jaguars live in the jungles of South America, leopards in Africa :3

  • @Leafclan99

One way I was told when I was younger was that Jaguars like to stay on the ground, and Leopards are almost always up in the trees.

  • ... so, panther = leopard?!! wait... jaguar? aaarrgh! After she said cougar, she lost me.

  • @thatlazyslacker Yep, it gets confusing! Basically a "Black Panther" is either a black leopard or black jaguar.

  • @BigCatRescue Ok, so melanism is more common in just those two cats right? I mean, I've never seen or heard of black mountain lions.

  • @thatlazyslacker they can be leopards, jaguars, or cougars.

  • @Sasudela though there's no proof of black cougars though.

  • @Sasudela maybe folks just high on something

  • @Sasudela Did you reasearch??

  • i be tripping out when i smoke and bump my music down the street i be thinking panthers are coming after me like i actually think what the fuck would i do if i seen one of these things on the street

  • i dont like cats but these cats..are fuckin cool!

  • my cat acts more mature cocky after watching this :D

  • love dem!!! they are damn cuteeeeeeee :)

  • @shourie100 you would not be saying that if they were to attack you

  • do you know if there are wild jaguars or leopards up in north canada? i have wanted to visit there in the summer

  • @Hamunii93 No, it's too cold for them up there. There's cougars and bobcats in the americas and Jaguars (very few) in Arizona

  • Comment removed

  • Uh how old do you have to be to volunteer at the big cat rescue ?

  • I love in Valdosta, GA a city very close to the Florida border. A friend of mine says that there is a myth that many Black "Panthers" have been sited in this area. One night at her house however I did hear a sound that resembled one of the Ocelot. Are the sitings mentioned in the video factual? and if so, can this be possible in the city I live in?

  • @theMUAnextdoor Yes all the sightings in the video are factual as far as we know. There are no ocelots that occur naturally where you live, it could be a bobcat?

  • 1:21 that's a fat one :/

  • @charliebrowngonemad it's pregnant

  • I saw one in England. 97

  • i realy want to see one in the wild...i hate to see animals at the zoo...they look so depresed...

  • I DON'T CARE I WANT A BIG CAT FOR A PET!!

  • who keeps a turkey as a pet...

  • god is a kryptid?

  • 2:50 I'M GIT YOU, TAIL!

  • Lol at the leopard at 2:06 posing for the camera xD xD

  • I actually saw one of them black panthers "loose" around the chicago area, couple miles from the city... i didnt believe it was true you can see one around the chicago area but its true, i saw one,..thats crazy .."Please comment back on this"

  • My cat was suprised when he saw this video o__O

  • what do i think? im going to keep calling them Black Panthers! why are they trying so hard to prove there are no "Black" big cats anyway? hmm... thats the question

  • im still calling it a panther

  • so is there an actual panther that is its own species not just a black form of another cat

  • @number1niefan No, that was what we were trying to explain with this video, I guess it's still confusing....

  • @number1niefan No, they are melanistic Jaguars or Leopards. There is no such breed as a black panther although people have been calling black cats panthers for hundreds of years. But there really is no such thing.

  • that black leopard was fat as shit lol

  • @rageface101 thats exactly what i was thinkin!!!

  • I was with a nice cougar last night. :)

  • did you know they are in the Australian bush,do some research on Youtube,or on the web...you will be surprised! :)

  • ..APOCALYPTO!!.. great Panther

  • a black lion!!!!??? now THATS sexy!!

  • their very well could be or could have been black panthers if you ask me

  • Comment removed

  • he looks like a very happy panther

  • They look soft haha

  • kinda fat lol

  • Amazing animals.

  • how many black panthers are there in this world? are they extinct? or they didn't exist since then? cats are interesting.. :)

  • I've seen a grey wolf in Sudbury

  • Is it true that white tigers, while very rare in the wild at one time, are now extinct except in captivity? I've read that the last wild white tiger seen (and unfortunately shot) in the wild was in 1958. Since then, white tigers are only found in captivity due to inbreeding. It seems wrong to breed them just for freak appeal, but also wrong not to allow them to breed at all due to the possibility of genetic imperfections. If that were the case, many people are lucky they're not white tigers!

  • @elfhermie Yes, they are extremely rare in the wild, 1 in every 10,000 tigers born is white and there is only around 3000 tigers left in the wild! It is wrong to breed them they suffer from many health problems due to the inbreeding yet people love white tigers so people continue to breed them to bring in the public and earn money :(

  • @elfhermie White tigers don't exist.

  • Right, not a "Seperate species" but then they say "Black panthers" dont exsist. And yet, here they are. Cats become black when they no longer need camo. Heat absorption and retaining heat is a huge bennifet to any mamal, I would think. I mean duh...do people completely forget everything about evoloution and what the hell mutation is? "Mutations" only happen AFTER GROWTH, not during birth. Thats called EVOLOUTION when it is consistant, such as with the obviously very real, Black Panther.

  • we choose black panther cause its a beautiful perfect animal and he dont Atack he only defend him self awoo BLACK POWER

  • Panthers are my favorite animals.

  • That right there is my school mascot

  • niggers

  • @savemyplaylist LOL!!!!!

  • That black Jaguar was pretty fat haha. not trying to troll or anything. It was just funny to see

  • I want two as pets sooo badly...

  • why cant my videos have a donate option

  • This is how black people were made

  • The "Black" Panther (Leopard) are relatively common in the leopard populations in India, Burma and Malaya.

  • video should have just said "panthers are leopards or jaguars with a mutation that gives them more black in their fur"

I hope i win the lottery

  • why not call black large cats panthers? So, everyone who claims to see a "Black Panther" is right. According to Wikipedia, a black panther is a black variant of leopard, cougar or jaguar. "Black Panthers" Do Exist!!!

  • 1:34 thats a fat panther.

  • Hate to burst your bubble lady...I've lived in the swamp/woods here in Northwest florida my whole life...Melonism or not...I'VE SEEN A BLACK PANTHER ...here where I live..so ....you'll never convince me there ain't black panthers!

  • @dadleyblane5 What we're saying is that black panthers are not an individual species like many people think, they are just black leopards or jaguars. They are out there, if you've seen a black panther in Florida it is most likely an escaped "pet" or entertainment animal?

  • @BigCatRescue I was fishing in the swamps off the Choctawhatchee river... About 50 yards from me a doe plowed into the water..right behind her was a JET BLACK PANTHER...he didn't catch the deer in the water, but I could hear the underbrush and limbs, rattling and breaking on the other side, as the big ole' cat continued it's pursuit on the other bank. One of the neatest things this ole' country boy has ever seen..

  • @BigCatRescue It could have been a melanistc florida panther (wich is actualy a puma)

people from noth america insist that melanistc cougars exist but they have no evidence

    might be true

  • @dadleyblane5 Yes they do look black from a distance! I totally know what your saying! But you have to get so close to see that its not totally black. I was convinced I was seeing a black panther at a zoo but when it came to the fence it was like an off black if that makes sense. Bit darker then the one in this video. Defo Black cougars out there though.

  • yes they do panthers when they groul they sound like a screaming woman a jaguar sounds like a it does in the movies

  • lolz the reason i looked this up is cuz i had a cheerleading game today and my cheer name is panther cats :D :D :D :D

  • Which black leopard tends to be the "Goofiest"?? sort of like my black cat at home LOL

  • @dktillie Saber is definitely the goofiest black leopard we have the the sanctuary :)
