6:36 You know you GIMP has an image mapper built in to it so you don't have to use a website if you want. Just go to "Filters", click "Web" near the bottom and select "Image Map".

@jame9169 If you're a youtuber with enough viewers you can apply to be a partner and start earning money from youtube. You need to create original content, comply with the community guidlines and upload semi-frequently. You can apply at youtube.com[slash]partners. Partners have special privileges such as making money, choosing a custom thumbnail for videos, creating a banner like the one in this video and others.

wouldn't it be easier to just create a project at the ration of 970X150 instead of downloading and matching up the whole youtube background considering the fact that you just used a single 970X150 project anyways?

@brayrow that's what i was saying in the video. That there are easier ways. But this new design doesn't allow for you to upload individual photos for the banner. So that means when you make it, it has to be a part of the entire background
