I wish I could ride down bigger flights of steps but I have a crappy 60$ mongoose bike that I bought to get me to classes at college. The brakes are really shitty so I have to wait till I save up about 3k for a Trek Fuel Ex 7
Well, I don't remember too much but generally when you brake you're braking with both wheels (with more force in the front wheels, since the majority of your stopping power potential is at the front). It's the same reason car disc brakes are larger in the front vs. the rear.
Going down steps is pretty easy, the tough part in this case was the fact there was hardly any room on the sides. And of course...at the end haha.

you were just breaking on both wheels the whole time right? or are you only supposed to brake on the back wheel?
