Kirk is mediocre--his hard work and dedication is what got him this far but his repetoire is quite limited.

Also his solos all sound the same to a degree, he is 'stuck in the box' and uses phrasing most people learn after 4 years of playing guitar.

Dave on the otherhand is more original and uses a larger variety of techniques, his stuff never sounds the same, and he can still perform live unlike kirk. that is all

@XxZero97531xX your right in saying that they are both stuck in the box, but i get the feeling that Kirk is less adventurous in terms of changing rythym and speed and patches this a large use of the wah wah. Although neither posess much in the way of musical theory, Dave seems to use a larger variety of phrases and rythym in his soloing to portray his 'gun grey' theme which I've become quite fond of. Well they can both outplay me.
