I remember, for instance, the first time I heard early Devo or Wall of Voodoo or even some of the Ramones' early stuff and thinking, "Wow, what the hell was that???" as if my mind had just been blown. I'm sure kids have stuff they love today, but I wonder if there's anything to just pull the rug out from under them like that, or like dudes like Hendrix did for the generation before me.
