ok, when you shuffled the 2 of diamonds, and not with the cut shuffle but when you just really mixed it, how did you know where the 2 was?? i can see with the 10 but the 2 with the "messy" shuffle (idk what is it called) how did you not loose the card??

When he shuffles them traditionally, you just hold the top few cards whilst you're letting go ove the others (into the other hand), and when you're done, place the remaining card(s) on top of the deck, this keeping the place of the first card and however many others you held onto. It's a really, really basic part of card tricking.

Search on youtube for double lift tutorials. They tell you how to hold it. Basically try not to show them the side of the cards, though a quick flash is ok.

The whole point is to hold them and fool them into thinking there is only 1 card. Practice and practice and practice, you will eventually be able to casually grab 2 cards, show them and then place them back onto the deck without even flinching.
