Blacksabfan is singlehandedly turning Thin Lizzy into an Internet phenom, if you ask me. So many thanks to him: he makes every day with Phil Lynott and co. brand new and beyond revelatory! Rebecca in Manhattan
I saw these guys in San Antonio in '77 for the Bad Reputation tour. Amazing show. Looking back, I have to think about Cowboy Song, just to reflect and realize, here is this band from Ireland and singing about Cowboys in Texas (and even romanticising the era? BRILLIANT!) Yet, there they were on stage, bombarding the audience with gems like Dancing in the Moonlight, Johnny the Fox, Jailbreak, Soldier of Fortune and so many others. Great Band. Its just good to see their stuff here!
I remember very well, to my younger years - yes, they were playing in Europe 1974, I was 17 years old. Thin Lizzy was one of my favorit bands - now I also over 50 years old. How time flys.
John Lee Hooker did this one, at least that's the version of the song that I have. Phil was merely diggin' into his African roots. Bad-ass Thin Lizzy, man!

shame not too many people have heard the original MR J B LENOIR, but a few of us still know him, what a mighty man he was and loved the world over.

Actually, this is a J.B. Lenoir tune-Mama, Talk to your Daughter-not a Hooker tune.

Lynottfan, your reaction is exactly the same as mine. I'm AMAZED at the abundance of priceless obscure early Lizzy tracks this guy turns up.

This is so much like Baby Drives me crazy.
You are right.
I can't believe the amount of Lizzy songs I haven't heard before. Another 5 star post.
Thank you so much for posting.
