WHAT A MANIFOLD TALENT. THIS YOUNG BOY COULD SING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. THREE GREAT GENERATIONS OF SUPERB ARTISTS. LONG LIVE THE WILLIAMS FAMILY. MAY THERE SOMEDAY BE A FOURTH.
I am trying to locate a movie by Hank Williams jr called: A Time To Sing made in 1963 - 4, any information greatly appreciated: I am an Indigenouis Australian Aboriginal.
Fantastic considering this is a 14 year old boy trying to sound like someone he doesn't even remember. This versatility is what led to Hank becoming the great artist, entertainer, musician, and writer that he later became.
This is a very good version of this song. For far too long, Hank Williams Jr lived in the shadow of his father, and consequently, he was always judged by those standards. Hank Williams Jr is Hank Williams Jr, a great singer & performer in his own right.
Early 60's and Hank Jr was giving a show in Dothan. I slipped backstage and went in his room while he was tuning his guitar. He looked at me as to say what the hell was I doing in his room. I said "Hey, you used to come over to my buddies house in Montgomery...your chauffeur brought you to date his sister, Wanda. Remember me." He changed instantly and wanted to know about Wanda and talked real nice. Remember Randell?
Thanks for posting this on youtube. Really enjoy it...do you know if it is possible to get the record? Both him and his father were great in their own right! Two different people....two different lives....two different styles!
@bgluvr57 DOESN'T ANYBODY KNOW MY NAME is the flipside of that 45. It's on Youtube. Look it up and give it a listen. It's a very nice one. I can't get it to post here.
Mind your language .....please...there are ladies and children who read these comments. I hope you don't keep your neighbours up all night with lots of banging and crashing and funny music....there's a good boy!
for my $, I am struck with how long Jr, has endured!!!This is a stone hard business to be in and he had REALLY big shoes to fill....In all honesty he has done a pretty damn good job....He's kept "The Family Tradition" alive, honored his Father, and moved in and out of many genres of music...takes talent and yes, mabe a little ass showing...give him a break..I was in Hamilton, Montana when he fell off the mountain...then man has guts and lasting power..I think Sr. is proud of him!
He was way better than his ole man. Please don't forget people that him mother forced him to be his daddy when he was only 8 yrs old. He has far more hits than his dad, way more fans, and most importantly he LIVED. Although it almost did, alcohol did not take him from us like it did his father. As far as the ass showing, who really cares. If you never seen an ass before, you must be blind because we all have one.
That was one of Hank Jr doing one of Hank Sr's songs and that was the very first single by Hank Jr. The album cover was the cover of Hank Jr's very first album. A great song and a great album.
Jr actually had a better voice than Sr... he just didnt have the feeling his dad had,,,, now his pant pulling down, ass showing on stage, and other shit that has nothing to do with music, has left jr a little short of what he could have been!
the passion, at that age..... crazy! thanks for posting, im going to have to find this album now

This boy was steered in 100 different direction by Audrey Williams, I'm glad to see this boy break away from his fathers music.
