@cravintruth I understand your point and do agree, to a degree. Just realize that medical school takes a lot of money and a lot of time. And also that much of what he does is subsidized by the government, so "free" it most certainly is not.

@mtb416 Nothing Dr Bob does is subsidized by the government. Not one penny. I know because I manage his accounts. He has been a " for profit" practice, and giving away over $100K a year in free care, and the reamining is mostly medicaid. This is one of the greatest obstacles Dr Bob has. People just don't understand this level of charity. They think there is a catch. Beleive me, he does not make a salary, and the clinic is NOT subsidized.

@mtb416 some patients have medicaid, some private insurance, many/most have no ins. Those with no insurance pay little or nothing. The clinic collects far less from insurance than what is costs to literally keep the lights on. I know of a few govmt subsidized clinics where the doctors make very good salaries, and the offices are well staffed,thanks to grants and other funding. This is not the case here. It is complicated, but believe what u will. Sceptics are not going to change Dr Bob :)

@c4yurself How have I been skeptical? I never thought that he's making money off this. I have pointed out that government helps somewhat (truth) and that doctors today often have to dig into their own pockets to cover the medical costs. How can pointing out the truth be construed as "skeptical?"

This doctor does great things, but for those who think all doctors should do this - no one could afford to be a doctor. Doctors have bills and families too, just like everyone else - plus over $100,000 usually in med school tuition. Lots of doctors do stuff for free, but they can't do it all the time.

This isn't unfair to his family, he is leading by example, he can make a lot of money dealing with the rich or make nothing dealing with the poor. You will pry tell your kids about morals like these but never actually do them. Kids do as I say not as I do. What he is showing his family is more valuable than material things. I'm in med. school now, maybe when I'm done I could be this strong b/c I'm not now, I want nice things too much.

our economic system tells us "work hard, play hard"...this mantra is a duality: it benefits the worker, because of his seemingly social improvement via hard work...but it also improves the owners of production because of the natural course of wealth being funneled upwards and concentrated into the hands of a few (via the hard work of laborers)

Your interpretation for the need of money is a sad illusion. Without money, society would progress itself into moral perfection. I know this doctor and he's a fake. He destroyed a fellow doctors reputation that worked with him. This woman was severely depressed and Dr. Bob and his nurse had her destroyed. @argentoki I was there the day that doctor lost her license a couple years back. She was a good person and did try to help many, BUT it was HER own addiction that caused her to lose her license. Her reputation is for HER to rebuild. Very sad that you would take this out of the good doctor. He and the staff had nothing to do with her downfall.
