And by the way, there is absolutely NO way you can get a Lotus Elise for $12,000 unless there was something terribly wrong with it. $12,000 would buy you an Elise with no engine, transmission, power steering, etc. The body, interior, and maybe electronic components is basically all you would get.

It was never made in the U.S. and therefore was never sold here - making it a rarity. Since Lotus is a British manufacturer, you probably could get one for £14,000... IN BRITAIN. I tried to explain that below. I live in the U.S., where Lotus Elise are more expensive. Especially the first generation.

The Lotus Elise is most definitely an exotic. Just because they aren't as expensive as the others doesn't mean they don't deliver a fabulous ride. Besides, I saw 3 different Elise models. Shown at 3:28, the blue one is the basic Elise, and the two red ones to the left are Exige S 240s, as well as the white one at 3:39 - 3:42. The silverish-gray one at the very top of the screen at 3:45 - 3:48 is the Exige 260. Both are fairly more expensive than the base model.

I know this is a silly question but what insurance company would cover exotic cars? I know I read that trying to get a bugatti covered is like tyring to find a needle in a haystack. They only cover up to 12,000 dollars and I am like no that doesn't sound right.
