@Conor4049 Micing an amp is a lot harder and more expensive, but sounds much better if done properly.

Cubase le4 is pretty good for beginner recorders. The Shure sm57 is a great mic for guitar. I suggest using multiple mics tho. Try using a condenser and a dynamic at the same time. If your short on cash tho the sm57 is great.
