Shearwater writes great songs, and their vocalist is great, but the band really needs a better drummer. The drumming on this song is so boring.

@censoredScene I know what the band was trying to achieve rhythmically, but they just don't pull it off. Instead of sounding hypnotic and driving, the drumming on "Rooks" sounds stiff and plodding. It's a shame because this song is otherwise great.

I know I'm probably beating this issue into the ground (how's that for a pun? :) but Shearwater writes songs with subtle textures and dynamics and therefore deserves a drummer that can better compliment that sound than the one they currently have.
