That is just untrue. Conservatives deem judges activists when they "legislate from the bench," override the will of the people expressed in constitutional laws, or create out of thin air constitutional rights that don't appear anywhere in the constitution.

Liberals complain a judge is an activist when their unconstitutional laws are exposed for what they are: unconstitutional. This happens to be a core duty of the court.
