i was a student there at the time -lived right where this is filmed in fact - and can tell you i'm a full financial aid student, not a "leftist trust-funder." and while i have complicated feelings about what happened among the mostly wealthy, mostly white student body that night, i keep having to remind myself (/hope?) that ppl were 1st and foremost celebrating the election of the 1st black president of the US (and a seemingly progressive one at that). no small feat in a white-supremacist state.

This was the most incredible night...I'm not pleased with everything Obama has done, but there is no denying that the energy and the joy on the Library Quad made that night one of the most positive experiences I have ever had at Hampshire. What a moment... The whole thing turned into an impromptu midnight rave. Such fun. Love to my fellow Hampsters!

First of all, the economy crashed under Bush. If you don't like Obama that's fair enough, but at least criticize him for things that are his fault.

Also, this video totally doesn't capture exactly how much of a crazy drunken dance-orgy this really was. I was totally there standing on the sidelines going "Uh..." while being hugged by people I didn't know. Effing crazy school.

I do criticize Obama for things that are his fault like the "stimulus plan" AIG and nationalizing the automobile industry. Now Obama is pushing Cap and Trade and you better cross your fingers that it does not pass the Senate because if it does you will see energy prices skyrocket. Obama is making the economy worse with his policies. Those college students should have listen to us. But they did not now they and the Rest of America will pay the price.
