Maan I loved Shenmue.. So immersive.. Back then on games like that Graphics didnt matter (Even though the graphics were stunning on them anyway :P) because the game was amazingly good. I really do hope the third will get released. and yes I am going to buy them if they get ported to the Wii (My Dreamcast met an untimely end long ago lol)

You've obviously never played the classic game Shenmue that came out for the now defunct Sega Dreamcast 128 bit system. Shenmue was groundbreaking and revolutionary and set the benchmark for the Sandbox genre of games that followed like the 3D GTA series, Yakuza, etc. See the obvious graphical clipping when the two sit on the bench? A clear indication that this is a hack that puts the lead villain in place of the female love interest.

Ocarina of Time and Shenmue were my biggest 3D gaming experiences EVER. I almost cried at times. The experience was wonderful and I really LOVED the fact the plot is so slowly developed. It really feels like you're in real life, slowly investigating by yourself the peaceful facts of a small Japanise town. The atmosfere is otherworldly (literally). its also amazing that to this day this is still a great looking game! Way ahead of its time indeed.

In every aspect: Free roaming, interaction, reprodution of the daily life, it almost feels totally free, as if your wish would drive it by itself, only when wanted. Truely a masterpiece. It does have some flaws, but the things this gem does right far outshine its negative points. A relatively unknown masterpiece that certainly left marks to my teenage years.
