  • I'm Cuban and love this tradition we do it every year .. It's a lot of fun, we embrace it as if we were part of Ireland that day

  • God bless Cuba and Ireland!

  • As it has been said, the heart of the matter is ALEXANDER O'REILLY, an Irishman in the service of the Spanish Crown, who was Governor of Cuba in the XVIII century.

Besides, don't forget the "GALICIAN CONNECTION". In Cuba, there are many Galician inmigrants and a lot of Cubans are of Galician descent. Galicia (in Northern Spain) has an important Celtic cultural heritage.

  • Since I am a Born Again Pagan Celt and a Spiritual Atheist, I have academically and spiritually divorced myself from the Foreign Middle Eastern Aramaic Religion called Christianity because it has lost its credibility with me. Culturally and Academically I have chosen to explore (My Ancestor’s Indo European Celtic Druid Roots) which has been suppress by the first wave of Middle Eastern Extremists called Christianity.

  • o.0

  • I am a Proud Native Pagan Celt; I wish I could read the 180 Druid books before they were burned by Patrick's New Middle Eastern Religions Cult. If you are a Proud Born Again Pagan Celt wear all GREEN! CELTIC PAGAN PRIDE DAY starts on March 17th and ends of March 18th

  • @MagicTellaVision There were no 180 books cos writing didnt exist before the christians came and Patrick didnt bring christianity it was there well before him.

  • Viva cuba!!!! Best wishes from Ireland :)

  • Ceart go leor!

  • Highland bagpipes and kilts are not Irish - they are Scottish.

    Stop copying Scotland's culture maybe?

Even the song they are playing is called "Scotland the Brave"

  • @222macgregor ,bagpipes are not just not scottish there irish too, and anyway the scots came from ireland originally!

  • @nk11090

I've heard some stupid things in my time, but an American thinking that Scots originate from Ireland has to top the scale!

You know nothing. The Scots originate from the Pictish Tribes who are believed to be of Scandanavian heritage however, nothing is for certain.

  • why are they playing scotland the brave at the begining of this video???? when it's supposed to be st patricks day for the irish....AND ME?

  • People, look for some information on ALEXANDER (or Alejandro in Spanish) O'REILLY. That's the heart of the matter. Then you will understand everything about this. OK?

  • The British (especially the scots british, there is no such official race as English or Scottish, try and get a Scottish or English passport HAHA)

    The worls lurvs the Irish.

  • BUEN VIDEO AMO LA GENTE QUE VIVE EN CUBA

  • BUEN VIDEO AMO LA GENTE QUE VIVE EN CUBA

  • I have the blood of Irish rebels running through my veins-Che Guevarra. He said this when he visited Ireland in 1962. His grandmother was called Lynch.

  • a load of rubbish

  • fair play te da fuckng cubans hi.............love em.

  • lads if ye wanna hear irish music ... look up wolf tones!!! nd lads cum 2 ireland 4 paddys day... we'l sure ye how ta drink!!! non of ye can!!!! its the irish way!!

  • You have have to be from Ireland, Northern or the Republic to understand. No Yank will ever be Irish. NEVER!

  • @NornIron444 Is this so? Eamon de Valera was a Yank and Cuban too! There are few patriots who have given more to Ireland.

  • WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

    This is real Ireland today..

    watch?v=T8KIwIcAQok

  • skibum, you're a pig.

    Go Cuba! Right On.

  • Before you go criticizing the Cubans for celebrating St. Patrick's Day you need to get your facts straight. First of all a fair number of Irish emigrated to Cuba which was under the control of Spain during the Great Famine. They did this because there wasn't any discrimination against them because they were Roman Catholic unlike what was going on in the U.S.

  • @skibum798 Fuck You you ignorant trash!! People from Ireland immigrated to Cuba too, get your facts straight before you go and open that idiotic mouth of yours.

  • Ha ha - playing Scotland the Brave!

  • Ha ha that would be so funny, if only they knew more than you did. The tune is O'Donnell Abu and is at least a century older than the copied scots tinned shortbread tripe.

  • @irishaware No its not! Check for yoruself on youtube. Your ear for music must be dreadful. There is a similarity but here they play Scotland the Brave. The two songs are not the same.

  • @skibum798 You're what sorry?

  • i'm Irish and this makes me sick

  • viva cuba viva irlanda haha

  • .. and sometimes no braugh.. =I

  • earnesto.s mother was from

  • Hi, 12 of us are heading over this week and we will be in Havana during St Patricks day, can anyine tell me where, when and if this parade will take place this year?

    Tiocfaidh Ar La!!!

  • wow look at these cubans celebrating their strong irish heritage, what a bunch of retards.

  • @Vargspor Yes - just like Americans do! very similar.

  • I am Irish. And its a Disgrace to see any photo on an IRISH Flag. Especially of Chev. They to respect OUR IRISH FLAG, and our Culture.

  • hi sdamron67. That guy with the flag is IRISH. From Ireland.

  • He is NOT Truly Irish if he has an Irish Flag with Chev on it. That is disrespectful to OUR Culture, Our Country, And Our Flag. The Irish Flag does NOT have Chev on it.

  • 1st. Its Che.. not Chev. 2nd He is of Irish ancestory as well. 3rd People should learn the truth about this man.. who did the impossible to help the poor worldwide (of course in war their are casualties) and open their eyes to the tyranny and the fascism AKA: capitalism. Irish people are beautiful people.. my good friend is Irish (cool as beans) and Irish people are everywhere... Go to the CIA factbook and see how many Irish their are in Argentina and Uruguay.. you'll be suprised. =)

  • BTW (FYI) Che's name is "Dr" Ernesto "Che" Guevara De La Serna Lynch.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP U HAM!!!!

im 100% IRISH AND fair play to them, there havin some laugh unlike u u miserable old cunt..ill tear u a new arsehole...

  • I am Irish. My Ancestors came from Northern Ireland, And I am disgusted with the photo of Chev on an IRISH Flag. That is a Disrespect to My Country, and our Flag. Next time they have the IRISH flag, do NOT have any photo on it.

  • Never mind the bollocks we're Norn Iron!!

  • why don't they celebrate their own culture and not otheirs!

  • @cebryan333 It is part of Cuban Culture.

  • Alejandro O'Reilly

  • Alejandro O'Reilly

  • Thank you so much for posting this!! I miss CUba!!! Any more vids mate?

  • I can understand it being led by the Cuban drug queen but why would it feature patriotic American Music.... ?

  • You're mystified for the same reason that Irish people are when they encounter the US idea of St. Patrick's Day Parade, and Irishness. We never did "Top 'o the mornin'" in Ireland (that's all Hollywood "Oirishry") or eat corned beef and cabbage (it's bacon and cabbage), we don't carry shillelaghs, we never drank green beer or wore plastic paddy leprechaun outfits (but that's changing - imported from the US!).

  • In a nutshell: people have misconceptions and different interpretations of what St. Patrick's day is - Colonel Bogey as Irish music? - fine! We're big enough to encompass contradictions. Just get out there and have fun on the day.

    :-)

  • what "patriotic American Music" did it feature?

  • 2nd song for 10 seconds sounded like "Army goes rolling along" but then broke into something else

  • muy bonito gue bueno gue al menos tenemos ese pegueño cambio en la Isla felicidades.

  • This is a joke...right? Just like the revolution....a fraud and a lied.

  • We Irish are proud of the fact that it's an all-inclusive festival and that anyone can participate around the world to celebrate Irishness, whether they're Irish themselves or not (except in New York, where the remnants of the Ancient Order of Hibernians with their 1950s mindset is still uncomfortable with the idea of gays (shock! horror!) marching with the rest of us. Lá féile Padraig shona dhaoibh go léir! (Happy St. Patrick's day to you all!) Feliz día de San Patricio para todos!

  • its like a funky Carnaval dance! good work!
