I've known these guys since back in the day...I mean falling over drunk at the Hampshire tavern...Hugs and kisses to Peyton and Matt...you guys deserve so much success!!!!
I have heard a another version of this song. Maybe a UK release? I like the production on this version. Is this the same drummer as on the UK version? I think that the old Dinosaur Jr drummer, George Berz, was on the UK version. I've seen him many times with Dinosaur Jr, J Mascis & the Fog, and even tolerated Evan Dando shows to see him play. No slight to this guy, but I prefer the drumming on the UK version. Haven't heard of George doing anything in a while. Any idea as to what he is up to?
george and i are live fill-ins for kahoots, a great band based on martha's vineyard. jj from the storm king was kahoots' drummer for years. incestuous, i know. i think george has been doing some other stuff but i'm not sure. in any case, they're both kick ass drummers!
I actually went a Lemonheads show in Denver earlier this year just to catch GB on the skins. Wish I had known that George came to his senses and stopped playing with The Dandy Man, 'cause the drummer for this gig was fucking atrocious! Evan was toast and the show was a train wreck. I'm happy for George that he doesn't have to endure playing Dando's lame music, but I wish that the word had gotten out. I went solely to see a master bang the skins, and left $15 poorer with a fucking migraine!
I saw George with Kahoots at an outdoor show on the Vineyard. They had two drummers. George was bringing the thunder with his Vistalites. The other guy was OK, but too busy, and kinda wimpy. I'd like to see them with just George. I felt for the other guy, 'cause GB bulldozed him. The other guy was annoying. His pitter-patter was getting in the way of the solid rock that GB was laying down. Great to see GB kickin' ass again, as I was worried when I heard that he was playing Lemonheads shows!
This is probably already dated due to the fact that were in the digital age but pretty amazing to watch video as it is.
