W&K astound me. They don't just create brand image, they make philosophies of Life. Watch their Levis "Go Forth" ads or even Old Spice and notice how product seems like merely an expression of the worldview. They make beautiful worlds, and: the things we make, make us.
I hate advertising, but this borders on Art. I would quit my job, school, and live under a bridge to be an unpaid intern/ janitor for those folks.
This is the best commercial I've seen this year, maybe in a long time. It is perfect in every nuance, image and beat.
Is it a pure fantasy though?
How many of us would it take to go tell the Wall Street and Wall-Mart crowd to stop under-selling America and Americans before this kind of message could ring true? Who's going to tell 'em to aspire to put a value on quality (in the grandest sense) over quantity -- and profits that don't reside in the USA.
@joshofalltrades@joshofalltrades I agree. It's one of the best spots I've seen as well. Makes me want to buy a Jeep, buy American.
Maybe we've taken some things for granted. Maybe things have to get worse before they can get better. Maybe America thrives in really hard times. Not sure. Isn't 23 mpg good for an SUV?
We went wrong buying cheap crap made in China and outsourcing every job. This commercial makes me proud to be an American and gives hope that we will be strong once again. We just had gotten off track for some time. I wanted the 2011 GC as soon as I saw it, but now I'll certainly buy it. Sure Jeep may be owned mostly by Fiat, but it's American workers designing and building this beautiful truck. That's what we need, Americans building things again.

Oh, and it only gets 23 MPG.
