remember Wrexham having Bobby Shinton in their side...and with McNiell,,Griffths,,Thomas,Davies..they were the best 3rd Division side i can remember...
I remember being at the Racecourse for the very first time for the match of the season, a 7-1 thrashing of Rotherham United that sealed the title for us. I thought every game I went to thereafter would be as high-scoring an affair!
Wow was great watching that video, brings back a lot of memories. Also the song were gonna score which is sang by the Brymbo Male voice chior, Brings back memories as my taid bought me this record and i still have it to this day :-)
Cheers Shaggy... happy days for Wrexham in those times. I am now in Devon, but still follow The Reds/Robins. I used to run the supporters shop, next to to The Turf pub ;)
When I played for Druids, Ray Mielzarek was our manager, remember him?.. and John Schofield was my goalkeeper idol.
Arfon went on to run a newspaper shop in Gresford, is he still alive?
I was goalkeeper for the mighty Druids United, that season! some good memories brought back. Pity it went downhill lately though. Was John Neal the manager that season?
No it was Arfon Griffiths that season John Neal left the season before after we missed out on promotion due to the fact we lost our last two home games against Mansfield and Crystal Palace when we only needed a point to get promotion, Neal went onto manage Middlesboro.
I was also there what a memorable season I was 14 at the time and just watching the footage made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and also bring a tear to my eye, those who were also there will probably agree we wil never see football like it again it was fantastic well done for adding the footage. Magic!!!
I was there I can also remember by Nanna taking me to watch the parade with players on the bus. Happy times and they will be back.Oh choralmaster my kids love the cymraeg version of were gonna score TR
