But one also has to wonder: WTF was this total dweeb doing there in the 1st place????? (Must have been a sh**load of weed in this bus, I teel ya! That actually is what gave him the munchies: "Holy crap! A McCrap drive-thru! RIGHT TURN!")
@SeberHusky Be as sarcastic as you want, but that is the way to do it. It is an old trick that any professionnal driver knows... Should he have done it, he would have lowered the bus enough to clear out with less damages.
Now who's going to pay for all that damage? One more thing, was he trying to rock the bus out? If that's what he was doing did it ever occur to him that he could damage the tranny?
Maybe they were cravin the the burger and it was closed. Either way they should not have taken a bus in there there is reason they have clearance signs. I can't believe this person passed the course to get the bus license.
The bus eventualy got un-stuck and drove around the the parking lot, he wanted to just pay the manager cash instead of getting the insuarance involed. i know nothing more than that.
Most likely you are right. What he should have done is have all the kids go to the rear of the bus to put weight on the suspension, let about 50 psi out of all the rear tires and back out.
You know another thing he could have been driving a sports team and reluctantly got talked into going through the drive through. Those coaches can be pretty demanding sometimes. I've lost count of the times I've heard the phrase, "Our last driver was able to get through".
Is it just the current public school situation and the dumbing down of America, or has anyone but me figured out by now that, by letting a few pounds of air out of each tire, the bus would lower enough to clear the awning and there would have been minimal damage. It's like my daddy always said, "Just about the time you think you've seen the depths of the well of stupidity, someone breaks out a shovel."
I was there and this was soo fricking funny. we were sitting in the car after watching this bus have a little trouble getting around the cornor of the drive-through. when we heard the loud crunches i told my frined to get out and see what it was. luckly he had his camera in the car. I SALUTE YOU BUS DRIVER GOVERNMENT WORKER GUY! I SALUTE YOU.
by the way this happend at the mcdonalds in Columbia, MD USA
Also I'd make the driver pay for all that.

@gs1702 I don't think it was spinning, it didn't have enough power, you can see the driver neutral dropping the automatic transmission... LOL

Can you pass drive-through by bus?
Is it good that you may pass though seems not to pass by car alone in the bicycle and the motorcycle in case of the track and the bus?
