Did you know that Octavarium represents an octave on the piano ? The first song of "The Root Of All Evil" starts with an F minor scale, and Octavarium ends in an F minor scale, an octave higher. Each song in between represent a white key on the piano and is played in the correspondant scale. It's not just about the first and last note of the album. The thought process behind the album is huge. Everything has been thought of. And that's only 1% of what i could talk about this album.

Now that i realize it, the flute solo begins and ends with the same note. The whole octavarium song and album REALLY emphasizes on the whole ends-where-it-begins philosophy.

octavarium also has 8 tracks on it (octa=8). it is also the 8th studio album from DT. not only do the beginning and ending of octavarium have the same note, but the beginning of root of all evil is the same note that in the name of god ends on (the last song in the previous album..dream theater did this for several albums, having that last song match up with the first song of the previous album)
