when I went to search for these tracks, I came across NFS Underground 1 *shudders & cringes*...now I see that it's in related videos, what a crime! lol
if there is a car game and if its about racing what the fuck is that nigger music nowadays games..rock please ..its not about music or style its about soul..fuck lil johns and others..put kill em all album..its better ..we are racing..
The crazy solo sounds like Slayer. Oops, I mean SLAYER!!!! Listen to the fade out at the end of the solo and tell me it doesn't sound like Hanneman/King chaos.
@pigkiller77 most of the music in this game and nfs 2 are by Saki Kaskas. a pretty much unknown guitar player. he's an underrated guitar player for sure
Fuck that I downloaded this song and I'm currently using it on the new Need for speed Hot Pursuit game because the soundtrack in that game blows goats. This soundtrack wins!
This was close to the time of SNES, that's why it's music rocks!
Man, where are the good old Original Soundtrack like this?
And worst, Need for Speed now means NFS Underground. Searching anywhere for "need for speed" will give millions of results for Underground, Most Wanted, Carbon, but never show the classics!
And the new one is horrible! It have almost only electronic music. For god sake, that's not right!
This original NFS had 2/3 of it's soundtrack made of rock music.
The memories... oh my and the crashes, oh boy! What the hell was that alien looking car you could unlock, it'd go almost 250? That thing was crazy fast!
aHHHH...HELLLYEAHHH,MAN!! You just don`t know what it means to me! I was seeking for these songs for sooo many years, countless years. Since my child age. These songs stayed in my mind since the 90`s...now I finally can hear this again!! God bless the youtube, and the man that posted this video!
I actually think of Top Gun when I listen to this. "Scud" makes me think of the flight scene where Iceman and Maverick are dueling and he goes into a flat spin.
@vfIskullangel dude, sounds nothing like Metallica, even if there's some vague similarities in some bits. They didn't write the book you know. Geez is that the only band anyone knows :-P
It just sounds like metal. Yes Scud sounds like speed/thrash metal which BTW Metallica did NOT invent. They were just one of 100s of bands that sound like that to actually make it into the mainstream & sell their assholes... that's all.
yea well it was crappy because 1 i had to flip it upside down in order for it to work right not sure about anybody else but i took care of my game system
well was that due to it's cd reading deffect or the quality.i bet it was the people.it took everything sega and nintendo had and copied that their own or 3rd parites did it for sony.tekken=Virtua fighter.crash=mario rip. final fantasy=got gayer due to realism.still good system but the uderdog saturn is still working from 95 and my psx is dead,i think it had sleeping trouble,i had to turn in like 360 and eventually it gave up.
@vfIskullangel well it's definitely appropriate for some fast driving. Totally agree with you, this is real driving music. This is when they actually used to compose music specifically for a game rather than chucking in some already pre-existing lame nu metal or rap. I love the first two, cause unlike all the ones that came after, you really felt like you were fuckin' hammering. With the newer ones your speedo will say you're doing 200, but it doesn't look or feel like you're moving that fast
*looks to see volume to turn it up*
*sees that it's already at full volume*
dang....
probably the best soundtrack in the whole NFS series...

This was the 1st game i bought for my PS1, i played like 10 hours a day. Was the best driving game ever made. This brings back memories.
The real footage is what makes the game so good.

who wrote this music?
poleeed 1 year ago
yea i really didnt know that Jeff Dyck composed those tunes. I first knew him from the Rome: Total War tracks which were overwhelmingly captivating.
Now i understand why this game had kick ass music (gratz also to Saki Kaskas)

I swear the song at 5:30 sounds a remixed Metalica master of puppets or reminds me of it.

I think Metallica actually made music for this game.

nope they didnt

Yeah, the way you can tell Metallica didn't do the score is that it doesn't suck big sweaty tranny balls. That should be a dead giveaway.
Booyaka9000 1 year ago 5
Actually Scud was done by Saki Kaskas. Not sure about the other two. I'm pretty sure Jeff Dyck contributed to this soundtrack as well as the second.
Karoth313 1 year ago
@SvenneTheBlockhead I wish they did but they didn't.
It is a metallica rip off though :)

@SvenneTheBlockhead: Jeff Dyck is the artist. for the music in the original Need for Speed and also a lot of the music in Need for Speed 2.
ausajax 1 year ago
The first riff is a total rip-off of Anthrax's "Caught in a Mosh" but whatever. The Scud part pwns the shit out of everything.
