That happened to me when I first tried entering, it said something like I wasn't ready or whatev :O I fortified my Luck then had no problem getting in.

I suggest just buying the GOTY (Game Of The year) version for only like $20. Not only does It have the the original oblivion storyline, it includes Shivering Isles and The nights of the nine, thats 2 extra storylines!!!! the game can be found at your local gamestop

You can't download it unless you live in the USA. If you live in the UK, just by the GOTY Edition and it includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansion.

They are just two gates into the kingdom, there isn't really a difference.

If you look on your map just to the right of Bravil (which is in the bottom right-hand corner) there is a small island that you will be able to see from the shore of the river.
