Great work! Have you tried a resistor in place of the load coil? Or something else that performs work? All you need is to do is compair the total work performed by your tesla switch against the same batteries without the switch. I have no doubt you will see at least an increase in efficiency.
The big so called load-coil is a 1kg spool of #23 making a 170mH/24ohm coil. The trigger coil is a small six-filar of #26, each winding about 17m wire making six 240uH/2.1ohm coils on one core. There was no planning on the coils, I just used what i had lying around at the time. I put some effort in finding the frequency though, so the load-coil would resonate like a swing.
I believe the current induced from the generator is "trapped" in the coil-diode-base-emitter-(and back to coil)-path and never reach any battery or the load. Maybe Kirchhoff's law, or probably better; the superposition theorem, would explain it?
That's a wonderfull work. Could I introduce an argument against your work? is it possible that the function generator is adding energy to the batteries via the base/emitor of the transistors?

Good job nilrehob. Looking forward to your updates.
Can you share some info on the trigger coils and the signal coil windings?
