The only reason FFVI is overshadowed by FFVII is purely because of graphics. I don't blame the FFVII fans out there because the majority of them probably never picked up a FF title before it. I've played every single FF since the first and FFVI is definitely the greatest.
I prefer this version than the Japanese. The voice of this people are soooooooo powerful! Than the one who interpreted the Japanese version.(sorry honest opinion only..)
I saw the scene in the game and fell in love with it. I watched this performance and it brought me to tears. I just need to see this live and I can die as a very happy man.
This movie brings back alot of great memories. To me FF6 was the greatest final fantasy. I remember playing that part over and over. Still not tired of it!
Me and my little brother were 8 and 6 respectively when this game came out. And we bought it immediately. It is THE best game out there, and this was my FAVORITE part of the game. We actually listen to this music almost daily. I have a cd in my car of all the FF6 music. Its beautiful. And this just gives it even more justice. I love it. I want to see it live sooooo badly.
I went to the one in Baltimore with my wife. I literally cried during the performance! What an amazing peice, and to hear it performed live was absolutely moving. All I could think of was playing that scene in FF6 over and over again, because it was the coolest video game moment (at the time). If you have an opportunity to go, DO IT!
@peileii That performance was SO amazing. It was such an honor to be in attendance to the concert. I am with you on the crying ordeal, this piece moved me so much it brought tears to my face.
@peileii That performance was SO amazing. It was such an honor to be in attendance to the concert. I am with you on the crying ordeal, this piece moved me so much it brought tears to my face.
I was at the same concert and I will attest that this was one of the concerts that changed my life, and I can agree with you that if anyone has the opportunity to go that they should!
The single greatest composition ever written for a game. Period. I understand alot of fan boys would prefer FFVII and it's "One Winged Angel" to be re-made on a modern console, but for an old fogie like me it doesn't get any better than this. Final Fantasy VI is the single greatest video game ever made, and if you're from that era and bothered to play it, I think you'd be hardpressed to disagree. Long live the Super Nintendo, Nobuo Uematsu, and FFVI!
@setzer3333 I fully agree. They can keep VII cause it aint no where NEAR as good as six or as we know it Final Fantasy III for SNES. I remember I sat down and memorized every word from the opera scene. They just don't make games like that anymore.
@setzer3333 A wise man once wrote: "Yhe only way a person could call FF7 the best game ever is if they had never played FF6."
And when you actually think about it, it's true. I'd say there are only a few characters in FF7 that have any redeeming qualities, (and I don't include those plot devices Sephiroth and Aeris, either) whereas the entire cast of FF6 is fantastic! Seriously, how could you NOT like this game better?!
@setzer3333 maybe not the best video because Contra is the best video game ever all educated people agree on that but of the Final Fantasies FFVI is the best
@setzer3333 I'm from the era, and while I love the game and the music, I do prefer IV. Just goes to show that everyone is entitled to their view. You don't need to justify them to others, or prove anything. If you need to think about what others like when you decide what you like, I pity you.
@setzer3333 Kinda cool seeing my words written by someone else. lol I've been saying that exact thing for 10 years now! The first generation of final fantasy fans stand by FF6 (sometimes 4) the same way the second generation of fans stand by 7. And objective viewpoint shows that FF6 is THE ultimate final fantasy installment, and this soundtrack is part of the reason why.
@setzer3333 Being 5 years your junior I never played VI until it was released on the PS1, but once I did I was blown away and fell in love with this song. I'll send you a like of a video I made. I hope you like.
@setzer3333 I do agree to some extent. If some song isn't "One winged Angel" or music from Castlevania: SOTN or Zelda: Ocarina of time it's basically given the middle finger. There composorers wrote HUNDREDS of songs and all you frat fans can think of is "ONE WINGED ANGEL, SOTN, OOT" . . . .
@dbzlotrfan I enjoyed FF6 a great deal... it was my second favorite FF game... being 7 the best... but I really hate FF6 fanboys attacking FF7... you dont see FF7 fanboys attacking FF6... oh well... anyway Nobuo Uematsu is truly a master...
@championofgods it probably has to do with the jpop influence that started bleeding from FF starting with 7... the influence was unwelcome, especially coming off of FF6.
@dbzlotrfan Actually Castlevania soundtracks are quite underrated and good same situation as underrated FF game soundtracks unfortunately btw this opera would be deadly for my manliness
@setzer3333 You know, I played the FFVI only this year, on PSP. It IS the best game ever made. It doesn't depend in the age much. Classics are immortal.
just saw it in seattle had AWESOME seats!!! i was sooo close!!! and nabuo ustapasta sat 7 seats to the left of my row ^^ these two collage guys were FREAKING out lolol. (he kept holding up a fish, is that some in-joke?)
Wait Can you give me information about the concert please? I live in British Columbia and I can totally cross the border to Seattle. Is there a website that I can visit to get some news? thanks in advance
btw dude, theres going to be a canada show in october, they just said so ^^ Vancouver or victoria. one of the two, try to go mate, they said they'll play F7 over world in that concert. (he didnt have the sheet music for seattles. poop)
Actually, it's common for singers to play a bit of the role they're singing, in this case, Maria's role, where she's very lonely, she's showing that through her closed body language.
"Japan must learn how to make a great sound from mouth"?. Since when does 1 singer represent a country, a bit too much generalization there wouldn't you say?
i mean japan singer in "Tour da Japon" orchestra must learn from Stockholm's singer... not that 1 singer represent a country... but in seriosa' vocal type case, many asian singer must learn from europe singer. about how to make a great voice like them. don't U agree? and I must learn from them too, like Andrea Boceli, Josh Groban, Russel Watson, and another seriosa singer.
i love ff6 it's the best final fantasy soundtrack i have ever heard in the series...miss it so much..where is my gba??I'll play it again and again....
Precis. Det var jävligt taskigt. Sen satt man på andra balkong så man såg inte ens vem alla applåderade åt för en dum högtalere täckte översta delen av skärmen.

I'm amazed, yet slightly surprised, that there's orchestra for FF-Music only.
And I don' think the woman's voice fits it so well, but it's great to hear this with vocals. ^^
The guy was a bit hard to hear, but it's hard to do that with the orchestra right behind you.
