Anyone who gives up their time to help rehome a homeless dog or rehabilitate an aggressive or unsocial dog is real hero. Dogs give us so much and ask for so little in return. Great Job done here, well done to you!
@PackLeaderUK that is so true. my dog rocky is my best friend and he gave so much of his love and ask for nothing, when my dog was sick, i was devastated and nursed him back to health. i know that my dog is my best friend and trusted companion too as well saved my home from burning to a crisp summer of last year. nor i cannot stand the abuses done to the dogs. rocky taught me to be selfless and to give so much without asking in return. i love my dog so much
josski32 You're talking nonsense, his way is definitely not based on violence. Have you even seen his show? Clearly you have not, if his technique was based on violence his techniques would not be so widely used and the results would be so different
Ceasar's methods are more like "canine mythology," not "canine psychology." So what if he doesn't have a degree, but he has never trained under a professional behaviorist, and he also does not know about stress and calming signals. Also, a dog can not be simply considered "calm submissive" or "dominant" when the dominance theory is a falacy, and there are many signals that are being shown that does NOT mean that the dog is calm, but that they are stressed.

This seems like a nice story and you and your dogs seem nice but I do not like Cesar or his way. His way is about dominance which is not at all logical. Dogs aren't wolves. Cesar needs to stop giving people bad advice and he needs to either change his ways or stop altogether. If you want to see some positive/progressive reinforcement trainers, who are good at being kind to their dogs, go on channels: kikopup, tab289, and zakgeorge21. Good luck!
@josski32 When I first got my dog there wasn't any food in existence that would take her attention away from another dog even at 50 yards. I've read all the positive training methods and to resolve it would've taken years of strict controlled environmental training with other people helping. Guess what, dogs don't live that long and she was already 2 years old. With the methods I've chosen to use she was able to run around off leash at dog parks within months. She'll enjoy her years of life
@jjj2www I appreciate your input, but I stand by what I said: Cesar's way is based on violence. Did you TRY the positive methods before you decided it would take too long?
Why is it that some people attack césar's methods so much. Is that cause he doesn't have a degree on dog psychology? Ayayay don't be a hater and educate yourself. Prove this techniques don't work and then post a comment.
Cesar's way is total BS he once said that a dog humping your leg is a sign of dominance. Well I decided to try this humping technique on my dog and other people in the park called the police on me. It took me hours to convince the police I was just doing what Cesar suggested. NOT HAPPY!!!
Cesar needs to move with the times. His methods are old fashion and have been discredited time and time again. Find yourself a properly qualified behaviourist to take advice from, not some bloke from the tv.
@tallykita Every method has been discredited. How come positive only people think theirs is the only method and if they can't help a dog they should just kill it. Oh way, they say euthanize. Give up and kill is what they do. If a dog goes into the red zone when they get near a dog there is not a treat in the world they'd prefer.. except maybe crack or something.
@jjj2www you think euthanasier is suggested by positive trainers? Errr no, you've obviously been watching way too much tv! No one suggests using a treat treats for dogs Cesars "red zone" - whatever that means. Read up on positive training before you comment, there's way more to it that treats! And yes, thousands of agressive dogs have been trained by using positive methods.
I agree, Cesar is amazing. His training methods have worked, time and time again, and now I apply his philosophies to the dogs I work with. I wish there were more people like him in this world. <3 <3 <3
A more useful way to think about modifying dog behavior is in terms of leverage, rather than dominance. Paying attention to and taking control of what the dog wants – attention, walks, food, access to the yard, access to other dogs and smells on the ground, door opening services, play etc. – and providing them for desired rather than undesired behavior, will achieve a well-trained dog as well as positive associations with both the training process and trainer.
My concerns are based on his inappropriateness, inaccurate statements, and complete fabrications of explanations for dog behavior. His ideas, especially those about “dominance”, are completely disconnected from the sciences of ethology and animal learning, which are our best hope for understanding and training our dogs and meeting their behavioral needs.
A brilliant example of why Cesar's techniques work! Some people don't believe in him and even call him a fraud or animal abuser, but THIS, this right here, is undeniable proof that Cesar is really a professional and really knows his stuff. No one can deny that with solid evidence after watching this video.
Thank You, CJ for the video.I have used Cesar's way on my last rescue dog and the difference is nothing less than amazing. One thing you said about changing one of the dogs about them getting in front of you or jumping up on the bed first, made me remember a mistake I almost made. My dog was naturally trying to walk behind me, it would stop to let me go in front and I almost fell over it. I didn't realize it thought of me as its pack leader. So the dog was already on board. Thanks again Shaamex1
Amazing how you were so brave to approach that red zoned dog! I applaud you! I've always been amazed how Cesar is able to go in and rehabilitate these troubled dogs. Well you're a testament that his techniques do work. I'll be getting a Sheltie puppy on Sat. and have already purchased the video set. I want this puppy to have the best of everything including a good "education" Lol ! You're an angel to these animals and I hope many learn by your example as well as Cesar's!! :-)
youre making an outstanding job with this I also keep up with my dog and I help my friends dog the only thing i just cant accomplished with mine is that I need to teach her where she needs to go do her needs if someone can help me with that i appreciate it....
Nalla looks like an Akbasch Not an Anatolian. we use both as livestock guardians. Akbasch are white with a tail like hers. Anatolian's are usually a yellow variant and Massive. Their tails are held differently and their hairs not fluffy/long.
Thank you for this video. I've tried obedience training classes and multiple tips and solutions from friends and trainers online, but nothing has been working to control my high energy dog. But, I believe that this method could help the both of us to build a better relationship. I would like to ask you which of the two books would be more suited for my dog, who I believe has a dominance issue? Thank you so much for posting this as a hope for many other dog owners.
@iluvcamping be the pack leader is definitely the one that would suit you and your dog best. I've read all four of Cesar's books, and while all were fantastic, be the pack leader was definitely the most informative and helpful one. good luck!
CJ, thank you for sharing your success stories with these beautiful dogs. It is really moving and has inspired me to try my hand at this. This was no amateurish effort - you did a great job!
I don't do transport like you, but have been fostering the more challenging dogs in my area deemed too vicious to place by local rescue groups I volunteer with. All the dogs I agreed to foster were to be killed but I took them on with Cesar's guidance.
Thank YOU for the lives that you save. If you need any help or support. I have a yahoo email list based on Cesar's way and if there is any way I can help directly do let me know!
Great video. This is an excellent example of how Cesar's Way can improve and change not only our dogs lives, but ours as well. I applaud you for your great work with dogs!
Wow. This is amazing. It still impresses me and this is the second time I have viewed it! I was very excited, since I read that book, and had found your story in there. Now, as I watch this, I realize that you not only rescued Signal Bear, but many other dogs. You are truly and inspiration. I wish there were more videos like this. Thank you. (:
Awesome story ;D but...when you said that Animal control is a death sentence...it made me feel like crap because there are so many dogs that run around our neighborhood and i dont want them to get hit by cars so i call animal control since i dont know what else to do...my dad wont let me take them in to get them help because he is calling my dog a mistake he made by letting me get her D; what to doooooo~ ;_;
Hi Music, you misunderstood. It was only for THIS dog that I called Signal Bear because he was menacing everyone who tried to approach him - he was a dangerous dog. They would not take a chance on him because he clearly wanted to hurt someone!
Music, sometimes dogs get lucky and adopted and sometimes not. Please think how awful it is to run out there, starving, cold or hot, no help if sick or get hurt. Feel GOOD about calling animal control because you will stop their suffering! Hugs!
You are such an angel to doggies everywhere, thank you for inspiring us all to be more present in our training of our dogs and by showing us the crucial skills required. My little puppy just passed away because someone left the door open and he ran out. I am so thankful that you pointed out how to prevent this happening ever again. I will purchase the book, as I do love the show but I love my animals just as much. Thank you and keep up the excellent work, AMAZING!
very very good its a credit to you for rescuing that dog i realy wish there was more people in the world like you.i am also a cesar fanatic i have six dogs and i also apply all of cesars ways with out it ,it would be a mad house, keep up the good work :)
This is the first time I've seen this video and I am a big fan of Cesar's. It's a wonderful compilation of his techniques in many situations. You do such good work saving dogs and giving them new lives!
Keep up the good work! I wish Cesar's voice could be heard for the SPCA to hear. Many dogs are put down for the simple application of food. Time and training, of red zone dogs, is not an option with current practice. A shame of how dogs are put down, when the capacity to rehabilitate them exists. Makes one wonder who is cruel, SPCA killing dogs, or neglect of peoples?
I purchased the gentel leader awhile back and it works great, but it is really hard to get it adjusted correctly, and if you dont adjust it correctly its uncomfortable to the dog and doesn't work as effective.
