  • Is that a tuner on the headstock or is it that "fat finger" thing that apparently gives you a bit more mass and therefore tone?

  • rob you were actually fucking born to play guitar :p

  • check the video of my pedal I made

  • That flanger sounds incredible! definitely gonna get me one of those, replace my....ugh...boss...

  • Hey Rob, I wanted to ask you for some time what do you think about the TC Electronic Nova System....I saw you have one and I am thinking of buying one...but until I have a chance to try one out i was wondering if you can tell me if it's worth buying one or not:)thank you!

  • all i'm saying COMPLETE GEAR TOUR!!!

  • Chappers, do you know if that power supply would work in Portugal?

    Great souns dude

  • you are using a Cube 15 X? together with a dark terror head? hmm never thought of that combination before, but i must try sometime soon i guess..

  • dude ...i ve been looking for that movie title forever! now i can finally download it! thanks!

  • what would be the best cab to get for a dark terror? been looking at the mg412?

  • @Kickstart187 dont get an mg412 its horrible and a huge tone sapper, go for a 2x12 from orange or something

  • @mikeygheetarz cheers dude, been looking at some 2x12s. think thats probably the way forward!

  • when will the competition for tc's distorsions came out? =)

  • wh at happened to that cooliage

  • I love that movie too!

  • Rob every time I watch your video's I always have a cup of coffee haha.

  • DUDE WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE DAISY CHAINS THAT ARE DOUBLE JACKS ? :O

  • some serious and variety of tone, nice vid!

  • Hey Mr Monkey man, how do you find the WAH Pad in a live situation? would stage vibrations set it off at all? looks like a great idea. Love the vids by the way keep rockin \m/

  • fuck knows why but the very last lick reminds me of the one they use at the start of every lick library dvd!

  • Cool vid

  • Ah man...if u dont have an okko diablo u do not have any distortion effect...=]

  • Lets be honest, who doesn't like a lot of reverb on their biscuit :)

  • Yo Rob could you do some reviews on those TC pedals ?

  • Chappers, could I ask what the third guitar from the right is on your stand? Best regards, BBP.

  • Great angle, I actually saw a couple things that could help me. Good to see your playing this way instead of facing you.

    Thanks for the vid!

    JP

  • One of your best vids, I love the over the shoulder look.

  • Hardwire CM-2 = Win !! I use one with my Marshall Vintage Mondern and it seriously rocks. Also great as a clean boost (level set high and gain set low). Nice simple set-up Rob that sounds great - just wondering though why you have the delay placed after the reverb?

  • It's interesting how you have shifted from Matchless to Orange Dark Terror :-D nice tones, just saying...

  • DAer rob,there's something I wanna know.

Nowadays there are multieffect processors like BOSS, PODXT, KORG ZOOM, etc with all sorts of effects. Then why take the trouble of arranging different pedals for different effects on a pedal board ? Is it not cumbersome?

  • @SanjeevGeorgeV What's the fun in having one thing that can do everything. My pedal shelf would look silly if it only had one of those multi effect things. Plus part of the fun is collecting cool pedals, and using them.

  • Hey MrChappers that's such a cool sound at about 8:00 sounds a bit like Jeff Healey on 'Blue Jean Blues' from the See The Light Album. Well impressed sir!

  • how thick are your plectrums??

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't live without a noise gate of some kind on my board.

  • 7:15 Something that slash would play?

  • I want the Shaker!

  • I was hoping the reverb would make it into the competition pile, it appears to have instead made it to the Chappers cool stuff pile! A review would be good though :-)

  • Chapper will you do a review on the dark terror?

  • what is the bypass for?

  • Zakk Wylde tones at the end!!

  • Chappers, you know the reverb has a stereo in and stereo out? Does that mean you could have two separate signals (say from the neck and bridge pickup) going through it without them getting mixed together?

  • That wah Bybass is awesome, think I might have to purchase one of those badboys.

  • 10:50 slash sound

  • I see your 'keep it real' sticker...

  • is that a roland cube 20xl? whats your take on it? any good?

  • you actually PURCHASED that?!?!

  • @Reble104 No, it was given to me ;-)

  • @RobChappers gotcha ;)

  • @Reble104 I see you picked Chappers out for some trolling too.

  • Chappers, do you ever use a noise gate or suppressor? i dont think ive ever seen you using one! which suprises me!

  • Chappers try Blue Chip Picks they are really nice too.

  • Chappers, what do you think of the Red Bear picks? I've been using them for about a year now and just love them.

  • @benzakonium Yeah really great picks! ;-)

  • Off topic question. But Chappers do you like Joe Bonamassa at all? I know you're a blues man and I just saw him 2 days ago for the first time.

  • Hey Chappers, since you're running the board in the loop and the CM and Wah up front, why don't you use a PedalSnake? Much better cable management and you''ll only see one cable from the board to the amps.. Very sleek ;)

  • MXR MC401 is a sweet pedal....crystal clean boost/driver. Nice blue light too!! ;> Perhaps you should consider using their CAE MC404 Wah, Chappers....

It's damn sick! An amazingly versatile dual Fasel, true bypass wah.

  • great vid Rob. I;m curious what gauge strings to you play ? 10s, 9s ? subquestion - how do you feel the gauge effects your tone ?

  • @muziqman100 i know he used 10's in Eb :)

  • If it has one, did you put the effects through the effects loop on the dark terror?

  • Chappers, are you going to gig with the Dark Terror? ;)

  • So is he using the overdrive of the Orange Dark Terror and his pedal's at the same time?

  • @tuksedoken No, I use the Dark Terror mostly crunch/clean ;-)

  • @RobChappers thanx :)

  • "hopefully it'll sound cool"... as if it could sound bad :P Great vid, loving the pedals! \m/

  • Thanks for showing off the gear man! I always love checking out peoples pedalboards on youtube glad to see you finally have a sick one set up for rocking :)

  • is the competition you're talking about the Heart of Fire? or a new one?

  • Every time I hear the Wah come in, I melt a little. Can't wait to hear you in July!

  • Reverb and Delay should be the other way round. =)

  • I have the same Tripod as you. Yeah I saw that sexy thing behind the JCM ;D

  • Jack Burton says it's all in the reflexes.

  • I think it sounded too digital with the flanger...

  • rob, that was a EARGASMIC lead sound 12:10 omg

  • Do you not like the cube anymore??

  • Such an awesome video!!!

  • That true bypass and the flanger gives you the greasiest blues tone. Gotsta get me something like that.

  • How do you like the red bear? I love mine a lot!

  • Always love your wah playing, can hardly wait to hear what new stuff you've got planned for your next album.

  • Have a word with Orange and get them to do a 100 watt Dark Terror. Sweet rig BTW.

  • Bring in the Vortex!

  • Chappers! Sick board! :D

  • Some schexshy sounding pedals there!

  • I know youve said the dark terror is ok at bluesy low gain sounds, but how good is it really? I would buy the tiny terror, but I need an effects loop.

  • you still have to buy stuff from andertons. they should give you everything. I wouldn't of even known about them without you

  • Hey chappers how do you like the dark terror?

  • Chapprers will you do a demo of the nova system PLEASE :P

  • Dig your rig! I also really liked the over the shoulder look. Makes it feel a lot more like you're showing a good buddy your rig :). Plus it shows a different angle of your technique.

    All the best! Take care!

  • boss dd3 or flashback?

  • are you using the roldand cube next to your pedal board?

  • SLAYER SIGNED POSTER!? Damn awesome! Again, awesome playing Rob, awesome!

  • Reverb before Delay that's original

  • @Youreallysuckguy I really like it that way ;-)

  • Hey chappers, on my ml1 the low E string doesnt have that pop when I pluck it hard, it sounds pretty dulled. It has new strings as well..My other guitar has that pop/spanky sound, but that is a hardtail. Is this because of the trem or is there another reason? It would be cool if you could help because its the only thing that bothers me.

  • @maneatingtoilets dude, go to the forum at monkeylord.co.uk and ask there

  • @maneatingtoilets Check your pickup height.

  • Cooolll !!!

  • Nice pedals!

  • Roland cube xl.....one of my favorite amp(combo)...amazing sound....very.....???...LoL

  • @Jelzkrim A wah-pad is something you put your wah-pedal on and hook it up to. It allows you to leave your wah pedal turned on, but the signal will only go through the wah when the wah-pad senses pressure from your foot being applied to the pedal. It also has a true bypass which is really cool, because alot of wah's color tone even when they're turned off.

  • Please RobChappers are the modulation pedals going straight to the amp or are there any efx loop ?

    Thank you!

  • @VBossa13 I would guess FX loop due to the fact he has two leads coming out of the board, most players usually put timed modulation effects through the loop.

  • @VBossa13 Effects loop for everything apart from the Wah and the CM2 ;-)

  • Nice board and it's a very interresting way to film for see how yours fingers works !

  • Your socks are always awesome, there's nothin to do.

  • Hey Chappers, massive fan.

I was wondering if you could do a review on the Red Bear pick. I was considering trying Starpics but i'd like to check out the other options. The idea of having an awesome pick for a lifetime instead of continually buying cheaper ones really appeals to me. Thanks :-)

  • Hey Rob greetings from Newfoundland once a colony of england. 1 quick question would you suggest the Boost/Line Driver to get my already somewhat crunchy amp to 80's metal territory or something like a Ibanez TS9dx .I saw your video of what it can do with the tiny terror but my laney lt5 combo does not have quite that amount of gain. Thanks Chappers

  • would love the dark matter

  • have you ever heard of a make called Dr tone? i bought a few of they're products recently and was really impressed with the sound and quality, by the way if i where to increase the voltage going into a boss ds1 would it improve the sound?

  • Hey Chap Chap! how do you have your action?

Also can you do a video on how to set up a guitar meaning like string buzz & how to get a good action i cant find anything!

  • they have good products, i use their tuner and delay.

  • I agree that reverb is a must have, especially playing at home in a small room at low volumes. Although I have a Fender Deluxe Reverb RI that has wonderful authentic spring reverb, I find myself wanting some different flavors of reverb occasionally. I've already been looking at the Hall of Fame and the Hardwire reverb and the Cathedral.

  • CHAPPERS!?? Could you please show us the Nova System? I´m thinking of buying it :) cheers mate you´re awesome

  • The Mojo Mojo appears to be a really nice boost pedal too... I am particulary in love with my MXR Wylde Overdrive. Its the best booster pedal that i ever heard, and it replaced mine tube screamer...

BTW i only use the distortion coming from pedals if the amp is absolutelly clean. If the amp is distorted, i only kick the Wylde for solos.

Chappers i might buy myself a peavey 6505+... Any comments bout this one?

  • Interesting, the relief is visible in that neck. Great sounds, gimme a bassman on the edge of breakup and these pedals and it would be heaven.

  • Chappers, would it not make more sense to put the delay before the reverb? Just that reverb's commonly used as the last effect in your chain, with delay just before.

  • Theres no chance you would consider giving away the corona chorus? Ive played one recently and really like it but dont have the economical standing to purchase it :S incredible sounds youre getting btw ;)

  • Interesting use of the Flashback and Hall of Fame there Chappers. I have both pedals - gosh they are good - but have only used them with the delay before the reverb in the chain. Having seen your video I'm going try it your way round. Funnily enough the only other pedal I have the chain too is a Marshall Regenerator which I leave on the flange setting. Don't use any dirt pedals now - just got a Laney Ironheart - so I've three channels with a switchable pre-boost.

  • What ever happened with the Chapman Guitars amplifier you were hinting about?

  • @ArielsSmartyPants Need 100 guys to want one, then I'm on it ;-)

  • @RobChappers I WANT ALLLLLLLL OF THEM!!

  • @RobChappers lemme find 98 people Me + Vbossa+ 98 people = The ultimate chappers rig

  • @RobChappers about how much would it cost?

  • how much is a vortex?

  • I really enjoyed the shoulder angle! Almost from the player's perspective. I'm not sure of what I could learn from that, but it was interesting nonetheless :)

  • Ive got a surprisingly similar rig! Kirk Hammett Crybaby>Volume Pedal>Boss Flanger (i like it better in front on the amp)>Blackstar HT-20. Loop >TC Electronics Flashback> Sonic Stomp

  • The guitarist in my progressive technical downtuned band brought a Dark terror with him to rehearsal and I was amazed something so small makes such an unbelievably heavy dirty sound!! He bought it at Andertons as well!

  • adopt me dude!

  • What happened to rob's telecaster!?

  • Incredible rig, incredible tone ! Enjoy Rob :) can't wait see what the contest is about !

  • that made my hair stand up really nice sound man

  • Is the JVM still being used?

  • nice stuff Rob

this morning I spent time too arranging wires around my board..

    8x8 DI + 8x8 midi in/out ... what a jungle.

we're damnly close to the Planet of the Apes age ..

do you think is possible to enjoy something for make wireless rings before it happens ?

    \m/

  • Why isnt anyone using TH2?? Am I the only one on the planet and if so........ WHY!?????

  • I love how tiny terrors make a thud. Class A ftw

  • Any news on the ml-3?

  • 2006 Hair! :P epiczzz

  • whats the order of the pedals? is the wah first or...?

  • Hey How are those chapman leather straps holding up?

  • what a stylish guitar strap you have there...I wonder where I could buy one ;D

  • @morbidSoulfly Why thank you for noticing, yes it is a Chapman Guitars, leather strap had made in NYC ;-)

  • What is the guitar between your PRS and the other ML in your guitar rack? Is it a Line6?

  • @ThieleM JTV59 really great guitar ;-)

  • @RobChappers

I used one a few weeks ago, loved it. My only issue was the heel has a slight bump along the contour that felt a tad out of place.

  • "I like a lot of reverb on my biscuit" lol

  • Chappers are you going to do a video on the nova system :)?

  • Chappers are you going to do a video on the nova system?

  • For some reason i find that i prefer using minimal effects in my playing. I really like my Blackstar ht-60 stage and the tones it can give me.

  • make a review on the esp V! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease dude!!!!

  • Thats a Sweet Flanger!!!

  • Dear Mr. Chapmann could you give us an honest oppinion about red bear picks ant price/quality review? :)

  • @ilmisxx2 I've been playing one for three days now and I have yet to see any wear... comfortable, sticky, great feeling and hard as nails ;-)

  • @RobChappers OMG Rob The Monkey Lord Chappers answered my message! I made myself a promise, if this would happen I would play my giiitar for 30 hours straight :) Unexpected but extremely pleasant :) Now to the subject, I bet they feel great in your hairy paws (that's a classic :D) BTW do your prefer regular sized pick or a Jazz III type and do you like it pointy or more rounded? Or you just dont care and play whatever is laying around? Thanks for your great channel You are a HUGE inspiration.

  • with the gear tour

  • Ah Chappers, your playing style become more distinct year by year. I was also happy to see that we have the same taste in overdrive pedals. Peace and monkey-five to you. :

  • Thats a throaty wah. Bitches love a throaty wah!

  • RobChappers have a rolan cube !!! :O

  • i thought i saw a regius, do you own one ?

  • Give us a gear tour, dude. \m/

  • Comment removed

  • I have the Hardwire CM-2 as well. Mostly because of an older video you did Chappers. Very robust feeling pedal, lots of fun with it as well.

  • That was a good camera angle, got a glimpse at how is it like to look thrpugh chapper's glasses lol.CHAPPERVISION!

  • Where's the tuner man! :P Or are you solidly using the planet waves headstock tuner?

  • Hah! I have that exact same power supply, and some of my mates were taking the piss out of me getting something cheap...thanks for validating my choice :D

Any particular reason you've got your delay and reverb in front of the amp rather than in the loop?

  • Didn't buy the Big Bad Wah you liked? Nice sounds Chappers!

  • Now you're ready to catch up with Vai and Satch and gig with them for the next G3 tour ! (well make it G4 'cause I want John 5 in it too :D)

  • Is the nova system better than Line 6 M9? I know that the M9 has 5 times more effects but are the delays and modulations better on the nova system? Thanks :)

  • Nice setup, dude! Gonna do a review of the red bear picks?

  • I would love to see Chappers play some Dream Theater stuff!

  • I'm there :D

  • rob , come to gmail
