Do you have to unlock something to race using yur own mii??

If you beat the 100cc Special Cup in 1st place, you unlock "Mii Outfit A" leading me to believe that you can race as your Mii with at least a second outfit, but until you complete that cup, you have to make do with the other characters.

Each Mii tends to have a different voice.

Or can you choose a certain voice for each mii?

It seems to depend on the height and weight of the Mii, and gender of course.

However it may be random, as two Mii's with similar atrributes can have different voices.
