  • Milwaukee FTW

  • WTF is this shit? their hardcore punk days they were SOO much better :S

  • WTF when did these guys go metal

  • anyone have the complete names of all the players from this band?

  • @MrJammin1958 Brian Egeness, guitar; Dan Kubinski, vocals; Keith Brammer, bass and Erik Tunison, drums.

  • Damn guys! Just one more tour!?! Please!!!

  • saw them in 88. white zombie opened up the show. WZ-meh. die kreuzen-killed it.

  • I remember when they played in K4 in Ljubljana / Slovenia... 1989 I think...

We were So hardcore that days.

o man, that was a gig full of emotions...

I'd rather see Die Kreuzen reunited then Dead Kennedys.

  • @jitterbuba saw a semi reunion a couple of years ago. Just Keith (bass and Dan vocals).

  • @kazkernel How was that show?

  • btw, this sounds a lot like "drowning man" by the cure

  • the singer now plays bass in a metalcore band called put her in the trunk,.they play around wi quite a bit

  • @mommyimadeapoopy He quite the band about a month ago. He also plays in Decapitato.

  • Sounds like a ripoff of The Cure's "Drowning Man" only sped up a little bit.

  • one of my all time favourite bands, I still get the shivers up & down my spine while listening to them, even all these years later

  • Great band ,I was lucky enough to see them early through there punk era as well as the more rock oriented phase.A Very underrated band

  • a hypnotic song/sound

loved their "century days" in 89 or so, saw them live at a lil club in Vancouver.. recall the guitar plyr stuck his cigarette on the sharp string-tip at the headstock, so the butt was burning away as they played... and the smoke was rising in a steady, still column of blue-white... stillness amid the volume...

  • I was lucky enough to see them open for Sonic Youth during the Daydream Nation tour. Great band.

  • I got to see them open for Sonic Youth on the Daydream Nation tour. Excellent band! Laughing Hyenas out of Detroit played that show too.

  • i love this band but i never have a chanse to see them alive they never touring thru germany never been in europe

  • They made one tour of Germany in 1990.

  • @CheapoFlims ; and The netherlands, saw them live OOC@Venlo!

  • I had the sheer luck of seeing them open for Sonic Youth during the opening of their 'Daydream Nation' tour in New York at The Ritz. As important as this show was for SY, I spent my energy seeking out DK and found singer Dan Kubinski. I was a bit tipsy, but I tried not too get too drunkenly sycophantic. He was very modest, looked down and said thank you. The guitar just reverberated hypnotically through the place!

  • I remember flying down I-95 in Todd Cambpells' Camero @ 100 MPH from WPB to Miami to see these guys @ theCameo theatre in 87. You still suck Todd! Now I'm a heavy equipment mech. What R U a date rapist? HA HA HA , now thats a killing joke!!!

  • underrated!

  • what a great band!5*

  • Exactly how I remember them, awesome.

  • This brings memories back. We were so hardcore...

I still have this EP on vinyl

  • Was on heavy rotation when I was 20... wonderful song that brings back some very good and sad memories... thanx for putting this here...

  • Elizabeth!!!! :)

  • does anyone have Elizabeth??

  • Dan and Die Kreuzen were the Pride of Milwaukee. I was young as shit when they broke...but I saw em every chance I got. He jams with Put Her In The Trunk, and Decapitado now

  • i love this song one of my favorites!

  • anyone got elizabeth???

  • Many times I have seen these guys in Milwaukee! I watched Dan K.(lead singer) hug the speakers at a Soundgarden show at the Oddrock many moons ago with maybe 30 people in the place! diggin' it long before it broke. A touching artist with a silent keen ear for music!

I see Danny starring in the future Cheap Trick documentary as Robin Zander!!??

Both have amazing vocal range and a heart in the right place!!

    Thanks for the music!!

  • augustine, you post in all die kreuzen videos just to say that shit? fuck you! go listen to your metalcore shit

  • Where the hell do you come up with that? You know NOTHING of metal/rock.

  • god, that's great... "century days" is certainly one of the best of the 80s and the first and more "hardcore" album is the only one that i don't really like

  • Wow! Thanks for posting this. These guys were great!

  • sublime...

  • this band was so fuckin' amazing. so under rated.

  • out of order from chicago. the album is "paradise lost" on walkthrufyre records. kick ass chicago band!!

  • their first album was incredible.

  • They were on "Touch and Go" records there entire carer, even for this song. Touch and Go records is an INDEPENDENT label from Chicago.

As a musician if you never change your sound through out your carer to try to sound the same as you did when you were young then you are not being true to yourself and might as well be sellouts.

Plus there band almost never made good money for them.

    They NEVER sold out.

  • Tim Yohannon's (R.I.P.)review of their first LP Die Kreuzen was the most radical I had seen from him as he was my favorite reviewer at MRR (Maximum Rock n' Roll). All it said over and over again was.."This is Fucking Great. This is Fucking Great..."

  • Wow, thanks so much for this post! I saw these guys so many times back in the day. And I've always LOVED this song.

  • wow thanks for this..had no idea there was a vid for this song..pretty sure this is a cover of that realy bad band aerosmith

  • Nope not Areosmith. They did a pretty good version of an Aerosmith song "seasons of the wither" I think this was on the same EP. There is also a very good acoustic version of this song on Their last LP "cement. Truly one of the most over looked bands out there. They were so very good, thanks for posting this!

  • There has never been another band like them (OK, so Voivod could come to mind...) and I doubt there ever will. I feel fortunate to have some emotional connection to pretty much every one of their songs - in a perfect world, they would be gods.

  • oh dude , thanks , I was beginning to think that I was the only one finding this stuff incredibly similar to say , "angel rat" or even "the outer limits" by Voivod

  • the reason Voivod, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth, might be mentioned here is because die kreuzen influenced those bands. re: voivod, give me a break. The first die kreuzen lp influenced much of their sound.

It's a shame, but the price you pay for being first sometimes is anonymity (at least in terms of fans of bands they influenced). not that these guys sought stadium rock fame, $, etc. (they were punk through all their changes).

they did it their way and that's why I love them.

  • These guys were way ahead of their time.........I miss them.

  • Cows and Beer!!!

  • Thanks soooo much for posting.

One of the greatest bands of all time!

  • What an amazing band. I've never seen this video before. Very well done. I miss these guys so much.

  • One of my favorites from them, takes me way back.
