I saw this, and I decided to not go to the hell.

I didn't have that weird ray-gun and I wasted my Life jar already.

I got the other ending, and I liked it.

Now I'm gonna play trough it third time, and be more accurate. (yes I have also seen the quickest ending too).

Curly's Nemesis is a lot more powerful than your Spur's non-upgraded shots, so when you're on his last form standing next to him on a platform, face away from him. Your Spur is good enough to handle the angels, and Curly will turn Ballos into swiss cheese.

I was shocked to learn people do this with 3 hp. Not that someone would attempt it, but that it was possible to succeed.

The easiest way I find to beat the first form is to shoot at it when it hovers high in the air, moving left and right a little to avoid the lightning. You can empty half its health bar by the time it's finished with the lighting thing.

Actually Ive heard before that video game and anime voice actors get paid rediculous sums, and I know for sure that the same voice actor is used repeatedly. For example, a voice actor from the video game final fantasy 10 is also the voice actor for bendor in the american cartoon futurama. Hes plays the main characters best friend in both. (wakka in final fantasy 10) there are othe examples but theres not enough space in the word count for anything else except for this.

And the ball form (the first one, anyway) seems to be based on a daruma-san — that's a weird round doll. You fill in the right eye when you make a resolution, and the left eye when you've succeeded. Search me as to what Ballos would be resolved to do besides die, but...

BTW, if you're doing it the "hard method", take advantage of Curly and face backwards when shooting at this Fourth Form. Haha. Nemesis does a whopping 12 damage per shot--and it doesn't matter of you're leveled down.

I didn't know all the speedrun tricks, so I had to kill Ballos the "hard method"--standing on the platforms and whatnot. Haha. Dodging all the bounces. My time is like a pitiful 6:47.

The best way to beat the last form (and fast) is to allow the spikes that come out from the bottom to hit you, and then use your temporal invincibility to stand right on top of his left eye, then blast all your rockets on his face until it dies. Which takes like 4 seconds. :P

I have yet to beat ballos. I'm trying a strategy my friend who has beaten him suggested: use the lvl 2 blade and spam like crazy at close range. It works ok, but mostly for the second form. not the first at all.

yes, that is surely the best way to kill his second form. for his first, stay in front of him when he goes after you, and hit him with Curly's nemesis. for the last, if you sit on his eye and

spam with the missle gun, he dies in about 1 second.

I do better with nemesis, as long as I avoid the experience, I do fine, except for the second and third forms, that looked more effective with the spur, I still just use the nemesis throughout

Also, best strategy from my experience is to level up the sword and the missile launcher beforehand. Use the Spur for everything before ballos's final rotating-platforms form. When he starts that form, start unloading a fully-leveled-up sword on him, and keep on doing this until you get hit (so you don't have L.3 sword anymore) and immediately switch to missile launcher.

If you used it on the first core, don't worry, you can get the potion from the last puppy before the Final Cave. If you used it on the undead/corrupted core, well, you're hosed.
