Hi Jesse, You could get to this location in the winter. Skins on backcountry skis coulg get you there fairly easily. Of course, there is less daylight in the winter months for this skiing. Fatter skis would be better in the winter. XC skis in deep powder don't work that well.
why? i dont understand why anyone would want to cross country ski? for exercise some might say, well if you cross country snomobile i garauntee you will get just as much of a work out. for scenery? same thing, snowmobiles are faster and alot more fun. especially when you have to go up hills
I agree with you -- snowmobiles are a fun way to see places, like Alaska. I own a snowmobile (Polaris!) and xc skis. I use xc skis, like at this place, because I have no way to get a snowmobile here (it's a remote island and I don't have a "snowmobile ferry"). And I couldn't get a snowmobile through the dense, near vertical woods below the open view country here. You can't go as fast, but you can go and explore a lot more places on xc skis than on sleds.
that makes sense, but depending on how far it is that you have to go over the water. well snowmobiles put jet ski's to shame. i mean have you ever ridden on water? i went up to dworshak dam and rode out on the lake. i was passing boats jet ski's and everything else left and right, it was so much fun. it was a little polaris 340 that we had for a long time...anyways that is enough rambling on. so long as the people doing it enjoy what they are doing i have no right to complain. keep hacin fun
I wanna see telemark turns with xc-skis on that snow paradise.
