well i own this but the CD version. its does have great steering and good suspension. its nippy and quick and is good on fuel. CONS: it does stuff up alot. especially the electrics. ive owned mine for 3 years. the lady before me had it since new. in those three years its needed a trip to the mechanics twice. one, my ECU died. and second the stupid throttle control played up.
Shame how North America received the Cavalier/Sunfire for another SEVEN years before this car came over pretty much as you see it in these videos - well, before GM of North America took out the high-grade plastic in the Vauxhall and put cheap plastic in it and changed the suspension.
The Cobalt is light years ahead of the Cavalier though (our J-car, not the Mk II Vauxhall Cavalier/Vectra). The Mark II Vauxhall Cavalier is even light years ahead of the 1995-2005 Cavalier/Sunfire.
@runforit420 I thought that the 4-door Cobalt looked a little too much like this Astra. I think the USA clung too tightly to the old platforms (and cost-cutting, rubbish interior material and suspensions) not just at GM, but Ford (see how long that C170 Focus has stuck around). You're right though. Engines alone put the Cobalt well above the J-Car Cavalier/Sunfire.
