@newyoikmabsta To be fair, Persona 4 is a pretty niche game with niche features, especially those associated with Japanese culture. People also move on, seeing that this was a game made over four years ago. This is still a wonderful game, however.
I personally like both. They're two really different kinds of RPGs. Persona 4 is focused on one story line, and although Skyrim has a main story line, there are also mini-plots and storylines and you don't have to play the main one. Plus, it takes place in a complex fantasy realm. I love them both equally, but even if they're both classified as RPGs they're extremely different kinds. x'D
@newyoikmabsta Skyrim and P4 are two entirely different games. It's not even like comparing apples and oranges; they're like apples and orangutans. And honestly, P4 was a disappointment compared to P3. A stellar soundtrack and a catchy visual aesthetic can't make up for an inferior story and watered-down gameplay.
@RockwellDown It all boils down to opinion. I like P4 more than P3 because it felt more real. In P3 I always felt like my character was a douchebag who let his friends go into relationships they couldn't handle, permanently injure their bodies, and generally not give anything back. Also, I'd trade the watered down mechanics for control over your party. That was a game-breaker for me in P3.
I think one of my favorite moments in P4 was when Yosuke received his persona. Having beaten The Answer just before starting this game, Metis' words echoed in my mind:
"Shadows are the lower parts of the psyche everyone has... Suppressed human thoughts given physical form.
When people are unable to face their darker selves, they break loose, free from all control.
But sometimes, humans with special awareness can tame their Shadows...

But I guess your mother didn't realise that you had the power of a fucking demon and with a single breath could basically set your entire town on fire. Hm. Or Persona. Yes the American version could go die - we know that. But that had a happy ending, assuming you finished the Night/Snow/SEBEC endings.

After hearing Never More I remember my friends when I was a kid...I leave them, I miss them...I only can chat with them in Facebook. But that's not enough for me, I want me and my friends back as well...same as when I was a kid. Anyway, this is good =]
Every friend i met after playing P4 were representended by an arcana, and as i got closer to them i was increasing the rank or sometimes reversing it, imagination is really awesome!

I didn't mean all of the people I've met in my entire life and not everyone on youtube are young or don't have a life, some people are more sensitive than others and some may take something you see as simple as something else...

@IwuvU091 Go onto the Megami Tensei wiki. It has all the Persona games in great detail (except Ain Soph and Mobile) and all the Megami Tensei/Shin Megami Tensei/Majin Tensei games. Though no Gitten. :( Yeah. Great wiki. It also has most of the soundtrack and the lyrical translations.
@darkmegaman44 Correction: Metis said he used his life-force, enough to kill a human. So, obviously, his soul's just pissin' around the Abyss untill Elizabeth comes and saves him, and since Erubeth or whatever's dead, the Seal is no longer needed. So, technically, he is dead, but kind of not.
@Jingle041 Technically it mostly means his soul is sustaining the seal. Erebus didn't die either, he was merely driven back. It can be implied, however, that MC4's (Yu's) restoration of the world of shadows to it's original form is a step forward into clearing humanity's despair so one can say Persona 4's protagonists did more to help MC3's situation than all his "friends" did.
@LeonGun8 Supposedly, Mayonaka TV is a supresed Dark Hour. So, technically, because all the shadows aren't hostile and are just waiting for their owners to accept them, because the world was purified, Minato/Hamuko could be freed since the seal was no longer needed. I think.
@Jingle041 It's actually a spot on idea. Mayonaka TV was never an actual TV world. It was the world of the subconcious which Izanami linked to the human world through the TV's in general and the Midnight Channel. Clearing up the fog that was weighing on humans minds helps in driving back the desire of an easy escape from despair. I do wonder how Atlus will follow this up since neither Philemon or Nyarlathotep have even appeared after the Persona 2 games.
@LeonGun8 Philemon is refferenced several times as a gold, blue and sometimes pink butterfly, which occasionally flutters along your screen during cutscenes. In P4, Philemon, is, again, refferenced: the save points consist of several butterflies circling each other, forming the shape of a man's lower-body.
And Nyarlathotep, I think, is one of Ken's super-awesome-rare ultimate weapons: it appears just as the spear that Adolf used in the true final-boss of P2: IS.
@Jingle041 I always thought the butterfly was Thanatos - but then I looked more in to it and I realized it is indeed Philemon. P3 is linked directly to P2, but only very very loosely. After all - Igor is Philemon's servant.
@Nazuiko You know I always thought that the Blue Butterfly was actually the soul of the Protagonist from Persona 3 trying to assist the Protagonist from Persona 4. i've never played Persona 1 or 2 but from what I saw from both of those games the Butterfly was a gold colour and becasue of that I thought that the butterfly in persona 3 was directly linked with The P3 MC more than Philemon. I Haven't finished The Answer from P3 FES yet but the Butterfly at the beggining is The MC signaling Aigis.
@Stiglitz51 That was Philemon, allowing Aigis's entry into the Velvet Room, so she could inherit the Protagonist's Wild Card and learn how he died. Whether or not Philemon wanted Aigis to learn how he died or not is unknown.
@Jingle041 Ah. My mistake then. But the Butterfly flies away right at the end of The Journey and I thought this meant that his soul had more or less became that Butterfly. The thing is why is it Blue and not the Gold we see in other games? For all we know the MC might be a deity like Philemon now and the reason Elizabeth went to save him is because she considered him to be a higher master than Igor. Just a theory but I think the P3 MC has taken Philemon's place while remaining as the seal.
@Nazuiko While Minato is also mentioned in P4 by Margaret, in P3, Elizabeth mentions something about her last guest - tall, red-haired,and very smart for his age. It's most likely Tatsuya, unless P5 is a prequel, and that's 5's protagonist.
@LeonGun8 Also, if you mean the boss in The Answer, then that didn't even do anything, it was just a personal understanding while looking at an event.
@shotstar24 um? I don't think I even talked about that guy though since I know they explicitly tell you he can't be killed, same way you can't kill Nyx. I'm not sure what I was talking about though, but I must have referred to Izanami's death and the clearing of the world of Shadows back to it's original state (without the fog of doubt clouding humanity's conciousness),

They've lots of interesting characters, a good story... but there are things that I don't like of P3 (*ahem* Shinjiro *ahem*) and things of P4 that I don't like. @sonanhdeptrai Sorry to sound so negative but no way is he getting back or else that game would be set during the Persona Trinity Soul timeline since Akihiko is a police officer who also confirmed Minato's status, plus both Margaret and Theodore don't have a Persona of their own since they rely on the Compendium, unless you talk about that broken Pixie as their own, that would be a different matter.
@TheDarkEleassar Uh, what? Trinity Soul has been confirmed to be non-canon, so there's every chance in the world for Minato to return. Aigis being present in the fighting game kinda hints towards this as well. Not that it'll happen in P4U, mind you, but it still has quite a chance to happen sometime in the future.

Didn't know that, usually animes follow canonical endings, that's probably because I stopped watching after some episodes, mainly after the guy's Persona goes berserk and kills someone who was very close to him (no spoils XD) and it was set after P3 so I thought that it was a canonical sequel. i really prefer this to persona 3 anyday. in persona 4 you can actually take your time with dugeon crawling without worrying about reaper on top of that, fuuka and mitsuru's romance paths seemed off? mitsuru with her fiance and fuuka is kinda awkard.
in p4, the characters are way more approachable and personally even though p3 had the darker story, i found p4 way more mysterious and it actually gave me nightmares too! so what do you guys think about the games in general?

So far my favorite Persona game is P3 but P2 is soon going to finally come out. I can't wait to finally play it legitly. Though I would prefer a new SMT over P5 anyday but after playing Catherine I think that if P5 is a mix of P2 and Catherine then I wouldn't mind... though I still want a new SMT :/
I found this ending quite sad because the characters were really likeable. Yeah, in P3 the MC died. But besides after playing the answer I feel like punching all my party members in the face...

@IwuvU091 Go onto the Megami Tensei wiki. It has all the Persona games in great detail (except Ain Soph and Mobile) and all the Megami Tensei/Shin Megami Tensei/Majin Tensei games. Though no Gitten. :( Yeah. Great wiki. It also has most of the soundtrack and the lyrical translations.

@darkmegaman44 Correction: Metis said he used his life-force, enough to kill a human. So, obviously, his soul's just pissin' around the Abyss untill Elizabeth comes and saves him, and since Erubeth or whatever's dead, the Seal is no longer needed. So, technically, he is dead, but kind of not.

@Jingle041 Technically it mostly means his soul is sustaining the seal. Erebus didn't die either, he was merely driven back. It can be implied, however, that MC4's (Yu's) restoration of the world of shadows to it's original form is a step forward into clearing humanity's despair so one can say Persona 4's protagonists did more to help MC3's situation than all his "friends" did.

@LeonGun8 Supposedly, Mayonaka TV is a supresed Dark Hour. So, technically, because all the shadows aren't hostile and are just waiting for their owners to accept them, because the world was purified, Minato/Hamuko could be freed since the seal was no longer needed. I think.

@Jingle041 It's actually a spot on idea. Mayonaka TV was never an actual TV world. It was the world of the subconcious which Izanami linked to the human world through the TV's in general and the Midnight Channel. Clearing up the fog that was weighing on humans minds helps in driving back the desire of an easy escape from despair. I do wonder how Atlus will follow this up since neither Philemon or Nyarlathotep have even appeared after the Persona 2 games.

@LeonGun8 Philemon is refferenced several times as a gold, blue and sometimes pink butterfly, which occasionally flutters along your screen during cutscenes. In P4, Philemon, is, again, refferenced: the save points consist of several butterflies circling each other, forming the shape of a man's lower-body.
And Nyarlathotep, I think, is one of Ken's super-awesome-rare ultimate weapons: it appears just as the spear that Adolf used in the true final-boss of P2: IS.

@Jingle041 I always thought the butterfly was Thanatos - but then I looked more in to it and I realized it is indeed Philemon. P3 is linked directly to P2, but only very very loosely. After all - Igor is Philemon's servant.

@Nazuiko You know I always thought that the Blue Butterfly was actually the soul of the Protagonist from Persona 3 trying to assist the Protagonist from Persona 4. i've never played Persona 1 or 2 but from what I saw from both of those games the Butterfly was a gold colour and becasue of that I thought that the butterfly in persona 3 was directly linked with The P3 MC more than Philemon. I Haven't finished The Answer from P3 FES yet but the Butterfly at the beggining is The MC signaling Aigis.

@Stiglitz51 That was Philemon, allowing Aigis's entry into the Velvet Room, so she could inherit the Protagonist's Wild Card and learn how he died. Whether or not Philemon wanted Aigis to learn how he died or not is unknown.

@Jingle041 Ah. My mistake then. But the Butterfly flies away right at the end of The Journey and I thought this meant that his soul had more or less became that Butterfly. The thing is why is it Blue and not the Gold we see in other games? For all we know the MC might be a deity like Philemon now and the reason Elizabeth went to save him is because she considered him to be a higher master than Igor. Just a theory but I think the P3 MC has taken Philemon's place while remaining as the seal.

@Nazuiko While Minato is also mentioned in P4 by Margaret, in P3, Elizabeth mentions something about her last guest - tall, red-haired,and very smart for his age. It's most likely Tatsuya, unless P5 is a prequel, and that's 5's protagonist.

I'm not sure what I was talking about though, but I must have referred to Izanami's death and the clearing of the world of Shadows back to it's original state (without the fog of doubt clouding humanity's conciousness),

They've lots of interesting characters, a good story... but there are things that I don't like of P3 (*ahem* Shinjiro *ahem*) and things of P4 that I don't like. In my opinion, both games are FUCKING AWESOME

@sonanhdeptrai Sorry to sound so negative but no way is he getting back or else that game would be set during the Persona Trinity Soul timeline since Akihiko is a police officer who also confirmed Minato's status, plus both Margaret and Theodore don't have a Persona of their own since they rely on the Compendium, unless you talk about that broken Pixie as their own, that would be a different matter.

@TheDarkEleassar Uh, what? Trinity Soul has been confirmed to be non-canon, so there's every chance in the world for Minato to return. Aigis being present in the fighting game kinda hints towards this as well. Not that it'll happen in P4U, mind you, but it still has quite a chance to happen sometime in the future.

Didn't know that, usually animes follow canonical endings, that's probably because I stopped watching after some episodes, mainly after the guy's Persona goes berserk and kills someone who was very close to him (no spoils XD) and it was set after P3 so I thought that it was a canonical sequel. i really prefer this to persona 3 anyday. in persona 4 you can actually take your time with dugeon crawling without worrying about reaper on top of that, fuuka and mitsuru's romance paths seemed off? mitsuru with her fiance and fuuka is kinda awkard.
in p4, the characters are way more approachable and personally even though p3 had the darker story, i found p4 way more mysterious and it actually gave me nightmares too! so what do you guys think about the games in general?

@Kageravager @Kageravager Though all the Persona games have been great, I don't know, I have always seen P4 as the wekeast entry. The characters annoyed me and the rest felt off a bit? So far my favorite Persona game is P3 but P2 is soon going to finally come out. I can't wait to finally play it legitly. Though I would prefer a new SMT over P5 anyday but after playing Catherine I think that if P5 is a mix of P2 and Catherine then I wouldn't mind... though I still want a new SMT :/

I found this ending quite sad because the characters were really likeable. Yeah, in P3 the MC died. But besides after playing the answer I feel like punching all my party members in the face...
