  • When he was younger like this, Michael had a great way with people. It's only now he's embarrassing and twisted.

  • I remember Barrymore fell down the steps and hurt his leg, I think the blue team could't got anything cause the man only got 1 question right and lost about £300 but he did got £150 and the garden shed

  • He'd never sung to his wife before (she probably told him that was her dream) and he did it on national tv before he died. What a lovely fella.

  • this show always had an old couple on it!

  • Wheres the next bit?

  • @MrAndrewGCGibson

The game ending is on the other strike it lucky posted by Pumphol

  • @pumphol thanks.

  • @MrAndrewGCGibson That old guy has a cardigan on under a suit jacket. WTF.

  • @sirtinycreep haha! I've never noticed. Thats never worked even back then.

  • bless fred from leicester, he was a legend, i remember this episode vividly - true epicness from a game show contestant, he is what you want on a game show.

  • ▼ ◄ ▲ ► ▼ ◄ ▼ ◄ ▲ ► ▼ ◄ ▲ ▼ ◄ ▲ ► ▼ ◄ ▲ ► ▼ ◄ ▲ ▼ ◄ Sorry, just dropped my bag of Doritos.

  • Ive always called this Strike it Lucky not Strike it Rich. I must be really old

  • Those two lovely old people are now dead....

  • @simondgrass youre spot on they lovely people classic tv gold lets hope this show will make a comeback one day

  • Fred was awesome! :oD

  • we need shows like this on now

  • Would love to go back in time and break the knee caps of the cunt who was laughing in the audience.

  • these was proper game shows....... NOW it reality tv shows trash and people who want to sing who are tone deaf and UK people that destroyed the UK music chart music and filled them with x factor trash! :/

  • It's good you got the cash equivelent really instead of the prizes, because most of the prizes they gave away on Strike it lucky and Strike it rich were crap :L

  • loved it i was born in this year, the set seems very 80s tho

  • I remember a strike it lucky with an old guy who got given binoculars, anybody got that, it was soooo funny

  • love the prizes

  • I want a hot spot too barrymore

  • Oh barrymore why did you go out the way you did!!!! i hate drugs, drink it all ruined him, he was so funny in his days!

  • 2:30 - cheeky!!

  • "and your wish is granted" lmao :P what a legend. pure comedy.

  • has anyone got the first ever uk show, my great gran was on it would make my day if anyone has it!

  • That was back in 1986, I would be amazed if you found a copy now but I wish you luck

  • hahahahaha, i always wondered on certain episodes when a old couple won prizes like a set or rollerblades, and what they would do with them :D

  • its such a shame that barrymore wwent out the way he did, this was such a great program i grew up too, btw tony, you still got those prizes? :D lol

  • LOL

What from 17 years ago !

BTW no-one ever got the prizes you always got a cash equivolent.

  • Barrymore is a ledge! This is class! Member watching this and loving it so much. Used to hate the young couples which would try adn go across to the final round as fast as they could, you could tell they weren't there for the game. Not like Fred! I used to love Barrymore & the contestants more than the show! They should bring it back with him as the host and the original theme tune! What a true LEDGE!

  • Lol at 2:30 when he kneels in front of the guy!!

  • @performingmonkey900 Ha, yeah! He almost lost control for a moment!

  • Barrymore must av been knackerd all that running lol

  • This was a pretty big hit in the UK, no?

I believe it originated in the States in the mid-80s, and only lasted one season (series).

  • For a long period in the 1990's this was the most watched programme on British TV, often getting 20 million + viewers, mainly because the shows host at the time was our number one entertainer before he fell from grace.

  • Barrymore was good on strike it lucky, but he was a 100% arsehole on My Kind Of People!!

  • watch your language please bigderekkeene.

  • wind yer neck in

  • suit yourself.bugderekkeene.

  • Do you have the Strike it Lucky with Cheeko Patel in it??

  • This is the only episode I have.

  • Have you got any Big break episodes?

  • Hi there

Yes type in Big Break 1996

Thats me on the show, I sent doddzesgameshowroom

A copy & he broke it down into 3 parts & put it on his site.

  • Ah, excellent footage there, the memories come flooding back. We used to watch this every week, I was only a little fella at the time! BTW, Tony, I'm from Waterford so I'm glad you got that question right. Unfortunately, glassmaking in the city isn't what it was back then.

  • Hi LG, sadly what is what it used to be, in fact my hairline is now comprable to what Fred's was back then !

  • btw was this the same episode you won it

  • Yes it was the same show.

  • Didn't they do well? Brad

  • I will hopefully put some others up in the new year.

  • lol, you chickened out on the Ireland questions

  • Two out of two if you dont mind.
