Never trust the National Weather Center or whatever they're called. In the summer, when a cold front is approaching, they always put some of the state in the "slight risk" area. But we always end up having a fucking severe thunderstorm warning. Or a tornado watch on some occasions.

This is what you get when you get positive CAPE values of 4500-5000 joules per kilogram...as I can estimate that from the strong winds and the sky cover from the mesocyclone (the supercell t-storm itself)....that's why severe thunderstorms can act almost like hurricanes...almost all of them. The 45-60 mph t-storm winds pushed the heavy rain sideways at one point....and at one time, rainfall rates reached over 3 inches per hour!!!

@jackytips My comment was more of a tongue-in-cheek suggestion for proper terminology and not a determination of frequency. Weather, such as a storm, is a temporary condition where as a location "having" bad weather is a reference to climate. The U.S. is a large country with very diverse climate zones. Scotland's may be less extreme, on average, but compared to Hawaii, California and much of the West Coast, it could easily be considered less than favorable.

This is how I am.

I love severe storms. They scare me when they hit, but when I see them coming, I'm amazed. I stand outside and watch them, too. I'm all tough when I see them coming. When they come, I'm a little wuss. Lol. But when they pass, I kinda get frustrated because I wanted it to hit. LMAO and so my practices are cancelled. ;)
