    it's a cry for help.

  • @schn0x The lyrics reflect the sometimes brutal truth that some of our young people live in a scary unstable world

  • I hear some of the root words for scared in Inupiaq and maybe hungry but Alaskan Eskimo is a little different from Greenlandic Eskimo

  • Great to hear and see. Thank you for your effort! Love from Oregon.

  • I really want to learn Eskimo/Inuktitut, I love the sound of the language. I have the book 'Greenlandic Grammar' and it seems so difficult.

  • Greenlandic hey, qaluitpin, yo how do you say hood?

    he's name is Maasi Pedersen

  • Are they from Nunavut? NWT? Yukon? Alaska?

Because They're so different from Northern Quebec accent.

  • The musicians are from Greenland but my videos are in Iqaluit Nunavut,

  • haha.. nicolas =)

  • They are from West-Greenland ;)

The band is called Prussic and they speak "Kalaallisut"- inuit language ;)

  • it skips in the middle. :(

  • I had to "rip" the cd like 4 times to get it this good lol, that cd was super scratched, and this was like 5 years ago with my ancient comp, I wish I knew where to get a cd or a clear version of the song...

  • Me too.. I really like this group from the songs that are on youtube.

  • are you like rapping about grater grating snow and a dog sitting on his house???

  • Greenlandish is actually a pretty good language for song...

  • it is eh..its better then the ungava inuttitut dialect (i mean for rap..there are some beautiful songs in my dialect, i just dont like any of the rap songs) lol...i love the Greenlandic inuttitut dialect..

  • im sorry for the greenlanders... denmark shouldn't own greenland...they should be a free country

  • Sorry? Are you equally sorry for eskimos in Yukon, Northwest territories, Nunavut and Alaska? They could be independent too, Canada and USA shouldn't own THEIR lands either.

  • Hi there, this is one of the coolest I've heard. I didn't understand anything it said, but the music sounds so good I'd listen to it again and again even if I don't know what it says. Fantastic work TakutaBoxer.

  • The vids are mine but the music is done by Prussic, theyre from Greenland. Thanks tho

  • So maybe this is an odd question, but what language is it?

  • greenlandic

  • Inuktitut...

  • This is a very good song! I really like the Greenlandic dialect of Inuktitut (mine is Amittuq/Tununirusiq). I wonder if there are any more songs on Youtube produced by the artists? Can someone direct me to their link?

  • Search for "Fiiist" remember with 3 I's :D

  • That was beautiful. I don't know the English equivalent to the lyrics, but, you really don't have to. When someone put's their heart into their music, you always feel it, no matter what the language is.

  • I'm not really into rap music, but the debute album of Prussic is an exception. It's a killer album!

    Can't find the CD though...

  • Damn thats a serious song man!

A father that smokes hash and drinks and cant take care of the children:O

    Sad...

I got the song and the text... the text is written in danish and The Greenland language too... sick song man!

  • Not to be a spoiler, but this is not the music video for the Prussic, I don´t have the original, but if I can get it, I would let you watch, on the original music video you see the singers (rappers) on it.

I´am a Greenlander, but haven´t been home for 3 years now, I study in Denmark, I do miss Greenland alot.

I the video isn´t taken from Greenland, or I would like to know when they build snack store.. :)

Well no more critic for the filmmaker, just so you guys know these things.

    Ajunngikkisi

    Fari

Besides snow falling, and birds chirping

  • My Inupiaq culture is dead, I am glad that Greenland and Canada have it slightly better than I do.

my mom is only 56 years old and she had her native culture beaten out of her, and all of my tribe had its legends beaten or converted out of them.

Im glad music like this exists.

  • Too cool, dude. Mi mother is half Inupiaq Inuit and I grew up (partly) in the L.A. area. She knew Inupiaq language but, she didn't share it with me < I'm not too happy about that. I want to learn another language and I want to learn how to throat sing. THere's a video of Inuit women throat singing in my favorites. Check it out, if you like. Camaii.

  • Well I DON`T think Greenland is the most boring place, I think Greenland is greatest place I know, I have wonderful live in there and I think it great!

  • Str8 up reppin kitikmeot inuit, all the way from edmonton, get your voice heard, awesome stuff

  • The song is about childrens problem of parents, theese rappers rap about they childhood and tell what kind of bad childhood they have, there are totally honest about them self! Many Greenlanders have problem with alchohol drugs and stuff like theese! So theese rappers are fighting against bad life with drugs and alchohol and slow it down, so the children in Greenland can have peaceful life.

  • can you translate the beginnign directly?

  • Yo! Yo! Fella´s from world! Im comming from Greenland, so don´t worry about the song, I can translate it, so read the text down there and if you don´t understand it, please write to me!

  • great beat...good rapping but dont understand but still awsome

  • The explanation can lie within contact between finno-ugrians and inuits who might have lived beside each other thousands of years ago.

Also note that the closest languages to Hungarian are khanty and Mansi, whose speakers live near to Siberian inuits.

  • Examples:

    1. inuit "qapuk" -Hungarian "hab" & Finnish "kumpua" (meaning:wave, foam)

    2. inuit "kin" -hungarian "Ki" & Finnish "Ken" (meaning:who)

    3. Kamchadal inuit "kov" -hungarian "ko" & Finn "kivi" (meaning: stone)

  • Kes sa oled? Mina olen inimene. Hwo are you? I am human. from Estonia

  • Wow! Great song!

I am a Hungarian, and I was really surprised to read about a handful of hungarian words having common roots with Siberian innuit language. The similarity puzzles linguists too.

  • Comment removed

  • Chorus:Them who forget their children, take care of your child like others. Don't drink, don't take drugs and nothing else. Them who don't forget your child, you take care of your child like others. Don't drink, don't take drugs and nothing else.

  • Thanks for the translation- Greenlandic is harder for us to understand compared to Canadian Inuit- but there are some root words I can sorta understand
