Glad hes not working on my car! Did'nt use anti-sieze and the car he's doing is an aluminum head. Anti-sieze is a must on aluminum heads. Also he should of stated most cars ten yrs old and up use platinum or Iridium plugs and have an extremely small electrode tip and you dont use the gap tool he has because it will damage the small electrode. You only bend the ground electrode {bottom tang} and should use small pliers to open or close its gap. If the center electrode gets damaged the plugs done!
@SUPERBWON Antisieze is not an electrical conductor. Antisieve on plug threads can make an engine miss due to a bad ground. Check it with an ohmmeter...learned this lesson the hard way and it will create a miss!
i just saw a video saying u should blow air into the spark plug hole before removing it cos debris might get into the cumbastion chamber and this guy just said dont ever use an air tool on a spark plug lol so confused i unno
Hi I want to check the sparks plugs, they are almost new but the mechanic said if the performance doesn´t get better probably the problem is in one ignition coil, does anybody know if I see some spark plugs dirty I can say there will be a problem with its ignition coil? they have changed only one month ago, please if you know make a comment
@LaurenN476 they will eventually get ungappped in the engine on their own. not gapping them will still work but there may be some sputtering and clanking in the engine.
If a spark plug is covered with build up, can it stop the plug from firing? if so, does that mean that the cylinder is running and not burning therefore flooding with gas? whats a engine sound like with a bad spark plug?
My gas weed cutter sounds funny all of a sudden and its pretty new.
I love how people want to make fun of videos when the person gives thorough and precise instruction. Yes, he may have lack of few procedures, but overall it is great information.
@hamtalker2007 you NEVER put copper grease or anything on the threads of a spark plug! because of the way there desinged (rolled threads, all are the same) the dont need it, and if anything, its worse because theres more of a chance of them undoing themselves, trust me, i never use copper grease on them since like a year ago coz i have had loads unspin themselves from the head
what he does,nt say is DONT pull all leads off in one go in case u get them mixed up they must all go back in the order of the plugs they were on only tke off one at a time, change then back on then the next....etc...
I use mostly Craftsman myself. Anything I break often, I have in Snap-on or MAC varieties. Tools I don't use often or aren't subject to abuse, I buy the cheapest I find at my local automotive store. I guess I'm not much of an expert either even if I used to work on cars, but now mostly on motorcycles and building engines..........
A lot can be said in the way someone presents their self. He speaks confidently and clearly, doesn't hesitate, and most of all - knows what he is talking about!
craftsman is the best for a mechanic since you want to know that if your tool breaks you can always get it repaired that same day or even get a new one
i guess thats the difference between you "mechanics" and us "Technicians" I have multiples of everything and 4 different tool dealers that come to my shop weekly that are happy to repair or replace whatever i need. im never without a tool.
If your spark plug is dripping with oil, it means oil is getting into the combustion chamber for that cylinder. You have leaking piston rings in that cylinder. I bet your burning a lot of oil too.
Please don't forget anti-seize on any new plugs being installed into an aluminum-headed engine. Just to make it easy, just put a bit on any plug being replaced to avoid confusion. Nothing worse than a plug that has heat-cycled and frozen itself into the cylinder head and will not come out, or takes the threads out with it.
