  • Don't use Google Analytics Data, just make a statistics of Browser use within Google Search Site.

  • Dear Ian M Go to google ad planner , you can get a very useful information about most websites traffic per country, keywords or per website visited

  • Actually, a good question from Ian M, who knows Google can implement it next year (2010).

  • I dont really keep up with SEO blogs except I guess this one as I really am only interested in e-commerce and have learned enough SEO to get by.

I say this because rather than suggest that we ask outside of these vlogs, why not invite other relevant Google teams to make a guest vlog?

  • There should be an fully independent statistics bureau that collects and compiles statistics for browser types, browser versions, level of broadband access and the ubiquity of flash, quicktime, and shockwave.

It could provide breakdowns by country and demographic.

  • Hmm, Google why did you delete my comment?

  • Hi nealgrosskopf,

We may delete any comments that are irrelevant, non-constructive, or inappropriate. That said, I don't see any record of you leaving a comment so I'd recommend that you try posting it again.

  • Why even create a video about a question you don't have an answer to?

  • .. To address the question and say that they can't

  • Hello mr matt cutts

  • I think he was talking about using data from Google search, not Analytics. If 80% of internet users use search engines and 75% use Google, that's a monster dataset that's much more reliable than Analytics.

  • Agreed. You seemed to be thinking of it only in terms Analytics... but Google did what 1 billion searches last month? That's a LOT of data on browser and OS... and I'm sure there is a little bias in there (more Chrome users), the sample is HUGE!

  • That's exactly what I was thinking. I don't see why it would hurt any of the big players to reveal their browser stats, although of course even with a sample size of 100% there will still be errors because of the way different browsers work.

  • Yes, that's what I meant when I asked the question.

  • Short answer: Nope.

  • Ah, they really should open them

It would really show what browsers/OSes are used
