@ravenpt Cape Town , South Africa . The tunnel in the ad is the Hugenot tunnel . There is scenes of chapmans peak in there as well . We have some of the best driving roads in the world

@IPGAuto well I'd love to hear a Civic that sounds like this M5. The real 'acid test' will be how it sounds under load, which we can only really assess from the drivers seat. Let's hope it feels special, but bear in mind that it's turbo-charged which has a natural 'silencing' effect even on a V8..
@medz91xc - I quite agree. It's also worth bearing in mind that this new F10 M5 produces more torque at idle (1000 rpm) than the previous E60 M5 produced at its maximum. This will be an EPIC car to drive, make no mistake.
After our recent test of the 1M Coupe, which astounded us with the performance available from such a humble engine (on paper), I can't imagine this M5 will be anything less than the best M5 ever...
And maybe BMW had under declared the HP rating of the F10? I mean, Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S' were rated at 500 and 530 Hp, but when a German car magazine put them on a dyno, that 500 and 530hp were to the ground. They were actually producing 600 and 645ish HP at the crank. Thats why theyre so fast lol.
One can hope...but one thing is for sure, the F10 M5 will once again rewrite what it means to be a sports sedan and be the standard for all once again
@medz91xc - I remember one of the most enjoyable group tests we ran in DR was comparing the E60 M5 with the Jag XFR and Audi RS6. Whilst the M5 had the most balanced and adjustable chassis, nothing came close to the RS6 in terms of engine performance and the sheer thrill of using that performance.
I'm convinced it was the RS6 that finally convinced BMW to ditch the high-revving N/A format and replace with turbos, I couldn't fault that engiine, so I can't wait to see what BMW do.
@miazsz - I can find out for you. You may have to wait until next week because most of the M folks from BMW are at the Nurburgring this weekend for the M Festival...

This video makes me hate where BMW is going... but whatever. I know its going to be a race car in disguise. Either way, I still want a house with a carport that showcases my car like fine art. Not to mention the car to park in it, lol..... simply stunning.
no one takes their m5 to their private jet. just show a 25-35 year old man tearing up the streets with a huge smile on his face and give us some good audio of the exhaust. i think bmw fails to acknowledge its tuner market which is probably most of its M sales. i dont know very many people with M cars who leave them 100% stock. except my dad whos a 55 year old who just wanted a sunday car.

Probably the best video capturing the sound of the M5 thus far is the one released a week ago - we entitled it 'The new 2011 BMW M5 Slow-mo Driving Scenes'. Otherwise we'll just have to wait until we can record it ourselves... ;)
