@ShadowKiller6797 Action replay only changes like colors in a game or whatever, you can't run backups, you can't run emulators, media players, etc. Action replay is NOT the same.

actually i check out a youtube video here in his tutorial it was told some steps to burn a disc and open it on the ps2 and it open and showed the same usual procedure to install on the screen

I do everything right but for some reason when I put a patched game and I select ''esr''' , it loads esr correctly and when the screen is supposed to change some colours it freezes on a red screen. Plz. If somebody knows something about it I would reallly appreciate it.

@argiris051087 there's different versions of ESR you can run, like direct dvd elf, mc elf, and I can't remember the others try those. it can be different for each game

@HangingWithChuck1218 Is it an auto-install disc, if so sensor block your slim, make a backup nightfire disc with cogswap in place of driving .elf, and then switch the discs at the title screen, run the level "Enemies Vanquished" and cogswap will load, swap the disc to your CD9using cogswap), run it, and then install it. It should work. No mod required(just a piece of paper, tape, and a straw).

Is cogswap the same as ESR (Lets you play burned games)?

ESR lets you play burned games if you patch the ISO with ESR Disc Patcher (a lot simpler than cogswap). With cogswap you have to switch discs without the PS2 knowing.

yes, but only if you rip the game on your computer patch the ISO with ESR Patcher thing and use a program (I forget the name) that makes all the files that makes it an NTSC-J game or NTSC-U or PAL game and switch it to any region you want!

USB Adavance is what your looking for,

you install the game ISO's on to your USB HDD with the program USB Insane on your PC.

HD Loader is for an IDE HDD connected to your fat PS2 with a network adapter

I've had no problems w/ESR r9b either. Also there's SMS 2.9 now. Why is there a need for cogswap since you have ESR? Oh, and the "launch disk" thing is useless because the PS2 loads games automatically just like in this vid.

Btw, you should update to the latest version of ESR.

Cause the only ESR game I have, is GHWT.

Since it's dual layer,

it doesn't really work with the other versions.

ESR r9 is REALLY REALLY slow,

and ESR r9b doesn't work at all.

So for the best results,

ESR r9a works the best for GHWT
