  • Travis,

I caught your video...see you in a few years.

check out the 2008 International H.S. HR Derby promo on "youtube". Type 2008 power showcase promo...enjoy! The top 60 high school power hitters in the world will step center stage on January 5th, 2008. The 2nd Annual International H.S. HR Derby will be held in the newly renovated Tropicana Field. Take a trip down (be my guest) and shagg in the outfield.

  • stance dont matter its all in the back leg and getting your arms extended you also need a trigger :> hes good but the bp pitcher sucked

  • I have no qualms with his batting, though a tripod would have been appreciated.

  • hey whatever works for him

  • maybe if the pitcher was better he could have hit more fool sucked

  • HAHA what a crappy pitcher deadballing him during a home run derby.

You can tell his stance is shitty, just look at him lose balance constantly.

  • fact he can almost hit a ball 400' with such a crappy swing is pretty impresive. Steelwind's right bout his weight transfer.

  • He has major problems with his batting stance. When he hits he leans back and leaving all the force on his back leg. He should be using the weight on his backleg to lunge forward at the ball while keeping a straight posture. That'll improve his hitting a lot.

  • uhhh no, leaning forward will cause you to lose your power and fall over... youre supposed to go center-to back-to center

  • yes i agree..he needs to step into his swing rather then staying on his back leg the whole time...but he has alot of potential so im sure somewhere down the road things will get worked out..

  • first of all, if you are going to criticize others on the internet, at least be correct. Stance is the least important factor in hitting, the final position matters (and this kid has it). Power hitters are supposed to finish with most of their weight distributed to their back leg (60% back, 40% foreward). This kids swing is fine, hence he is in a showcase hr derby!

  • Power hitters hit off of their back leg. There is no other way to hit long fly balls (go watch some home run hitters, trust me). I think this kid's stance is ok. He just seems a little unready for the pitch.

  • weak
