  • So nice of you to encourage me in my attempt to teach very beginner Guitar Concepts. Means a lot to me!

  • dont listen to the jerks who just bitch about youtube videos. this is a very hard skill to learn, especially if you have no idea where to start. thanks for the video.

  • @Andrea2350 Hi, really appreciate that comment, if I help one person it's made my day!

  • this songs about ur imagination...the very same thing thats gonna get you shot...FUCK UR ANNOYING!!!

mmaa aaahh ahh ahh imaaginaaatio o o'o'o'on...fuckin mah ah ah imagin aattio'o'o'on mother fucker yeahhhh!!

  • @skootermya Well, yeah, I see what you mean, this could be annoying, but seriously it may help someone who wants to sing along with the guitar, to keep it simple, so it's not all bad.

  • it was so simple yet so... beautiful

  • Thanks, I made up that simple chord progression years ago, about 35 years ago to be exact. I still use it often when I can't think of anything else to play for a small audience.

  • @Leezy182 thanks for the encouragement, means so much to me!

  • You sound like Mr. Rogers from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood...

  • @DatWonGuy Hey, thanks, Mr. Rogers or no!

  • Hey man im having a little trouble myself. I play bass and im trying to sing at the same time but it isn't working as well as i thought. Usually ill get started and then i start to match the words to the playing of the bass which means i speed up or slow down my words to the bass guitar of the song. If you can give me any tips any at all that would be great. i also can only do it when i play on one string. So any more tips would be perfect.

  • Maybe this'll work for you:

mute your guitar when you're playing, but still hit the chords. And then sing. So the sound of your bass doesn't distract you. Then when you feel comfortable, do it with the sound :]

  • Thanks I'll be sure to try that. : D

  • No problem :D

You should be good enough within a month's practice without slacking :]

  • My suggestion would be to practice first the different strumming without trying to sing. Then when you have the strum down slowly work in the words. At first it would seem that nothing matches, will sound awkward but hang in there. Keep playing the same rhythm and singing until you think you're going crazy. Then take a break and do it again. Eventually you will begin to sing to the new strum pattern -- don't give up!!

  • please, u can give me some tips,on how to play complex strumming patterns and sing together....i have no problem to sing and play guitar, but only on one kind of strumming pattern, when i change this strumming pattern i cannot sing and keep the strum...so if you have any advise, plz give me..

  • I have troubles playing and singing at same time myself. I just started humming instead or singing made up words so I don't have to storytell yet. Chords are C and F.

  • Hi, Thanks for commenting on my video. Yes, singing and playing is really difficult at first...mainly hard to remember a series of chords so you don't have to think about where your fingers are. Chords here are as simple as can be as you noted...C and F.

  • i cant do both i either start strummin real fast or sing like speaking and way out of time.

  • Hi, Thanks for the comment on my guitar lesson video. Yes you are so right, trying to sing with the guitar at the same time is really daunting but worth the effort. Just keep the chords simple and at some point you'll start playing without thinking, then just sing along...you can do it!

  • I think you should put some info on playing it, at least name the 2 chords and possibly speak of how your playing them.

  • Hello, Thanks for commenting on my guitar lesson video. Yes, you are entirely correct. The two chords here are C and F - thus pretty easy to remember and if you play them enough through repetition they'll become second nature and you will find "room" to sing without feeling crowded by thoughts of where your fingers are...(;

  • Hi, Thanks for commenting on the video! It's a bit simple I know....(; !
