  • Damn Jack, you need to play through that marshall all the time. That thing sounds great! Keep up the good work!

  • Dare I say that vintage Ibanez has some mojo.

  • They should make a metal re-issue of the maxon called the AD666

  • @johnyguitar01 HA...LOL! Classic statement there!

  • I had two of these models. And sold them both. They were good sounding pedals. But now I have gotten into the modeling amps. Where you have everything at your fingertips.

  • Eric whorton!!!!!!

  • i enjoyed ! thank you very much!

  • Honestly.. GMD you are far the most funny en interesting reviewer on youtube. also cudo's for Andy from PGS.com.. The rest is crap .. you guys rule big time.. especially you GMD..

  • Hi gearmann. I have the AD-9. I got it from M.F. a couple of years back. It is a good delay. Though mine dont look look as worn as yours though. The AD-999 sounds good but was too expensive . I play fender and gibson guitars and fender hot rod deluxe and line6 amps

  • MAXON AD999 - delays sound cleaner, very crisp quality to it

IBANEZ AD9 - sounds warmer overall and delays sound like they have more modulation/analogy warmth to them

*like always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, and what you're willing to pay.

  • hmm? well what do yah know.. that ibanez dirt was nice

  • your real name is John right? From Texas. Also known as analog_tone?

  • @txphi17 no, his name's eric

  • nice burp :))

  • Dude, I like that old Ibanez. It has personality, but the Maxon is great in every way. Maxon doesnt make bad stuff. But if you ever want to well the old Ibanez please let me know.

  • @TBonzai1 Yep, Maxon does make good stuff, including old Ibanez pedals ; ) I've owned both and the Memory Man Deluxe, and I can't really tell you which is better? Both are great. If you want more delay time I'd go with the AD999 or an AD900 (if you don't mind using the adapter).

  • ad999 gets my vote

  • I did the same shootout over the period of several weeks of owning both...(I sold the Ibanez) although I will admit the vintage Ibanez sounds more voicey than the reissue.

....the ad999 is much nicer to my ears....especially on a room ambient slapback tone.

  • What about the new Ibanez AD-9 RI, it has more BBD chips than the original.

And what about the Maxon AD-9.

You should compare those two pedals to your dirty original Ibanez AD-9. It would make more sense since all three share the same box.

  • aw... the ad 9 in 1995 i got out of the navy, got stoned and started using my four track. it was the only pedal i had .. the only effect i had. i sang through it i even played bass through it i played guitar through it . i never realized how much i'd miss it when i gave it back to the rightful owner..

  • 0:50. LOL!!!

    hahahaha!!

  • ibanez sounds a bit 'deep' like you roll down your tone knob.

  • what is the music at the beginning of your prestation ?

  • you sound like jack black!!

  • Hey J.B. You've got all the best pedals for sure. Spend your next check on a new pair of Naconas huh?

  • How does the Maxon AD9 compare to the 999 please.

  • the maxon sounds better to my ears

  • haha the end, hahahaha

  • the song is Angry Cockroaches by Tito & Tarrantula its on the "From Dusk till Dawn" soundtrack, kick ass song, kick ass review, BTW guys just to confirm, this is jack black

  • OH... you did fine.

  • hahaha loved the ending

  • I use to have one of these Ibanez AD9 from the 80's and it was epic. A friend of mine borrowed it and never returned it. I played a '69 Les Paul Custom thru it. Appreciate the demo but what was left out was playing out thru the dry and the delayed outputs (2 outs). Send the Dry to an amp on your left, then your delayed to an amp on your right and it would sound like you were playing in Madison Fu%#in' Square Garden - even in a small room. Amazing effect. They're classic pedals.

  • Can you do Analog vs digital delay?

  • is this..................Jack Black.....?

  • @GrimmJ0ww "It's a studio it says it on the door...it's a God damn recording studio...Do you wanna bail? Fine or do you wanna come with me like the Tenacious D I know and change ROCK HISTORY!!!"

  • you need to seriously do more delay demos.

  • wait nevermind...cucarachas enojadas!

  • what song was that for the intro/outro?

  • isnt this your first delay demo?

Was starting to wonder if you hated delay as much as you hate reverb!

I my self is looking after a dm2&ad9 kind of pedal.! thanks for demo GMD

  • no he did a carbon copy

  • yeah, i just found out of that. :)

  • Does the pedal you want have to be compact?

  • what a miraculous accomplishment!

I am very proud of you! Congrats!

  • lol someones angry
