If Massa doesn't want this to happen, then he has to work out a way to go faster than Alonso - there's nothing else he can do. Because if he'd been ahead of Alonso in the championship, it would have been him going past....

About team orders, it's a rule that was just plain impossible to govern, and Alonso was far ahead of Felipe in the WDC at this point, and was consistently beating him all year. a WDC that Ferrari were just coming back in range of. He had to maximize points, and it payed off.

There's no reason to talk like this about Ferrari, the rest of teams have their own politic and way to do this, you can say "Alonso it's faster than you" or "save fuel" or "save tyres", it's the same but it's true that Ferrari's way is not the most beautifull one.
Rob Smedley, Massa's race engineer said the reason why Alonso passed was because he selected 3 gears at once, video showed here he applied 1/4 throttle in 2nd gear instead of full to let Alonso pass.
Stefano Domenicali said that Massa also had a gearbox issue, again the video proves this false.
Massa in the press conference magnanimously said that he had orders from the team, then later on said that it was his decision to let him pass.

People can't deny it was obviously a team order. But I think that F1 is the highest branch of motor sport and competition should also be of the highest standard. For me F1 isn't all about overtaking and fighting, for me it is more about accomplishments, like Senna against Prost in Monaco or Schumacher returning Ferrari to its former glory. There is no good or bad play, there is only winning.

@MrBillRio Alonso left McLaren mostly because of the whole spygate thing, sure he was upset that he had a teammate beating him, but you have to say that McLaren was biased to Hamilton,which was Alonso's main problem.
About team orders, it's a rule that was just plain impossible to govern, and Alonso was far ahead of Felipe in the WDC at this point, and was consistently beating him all year. a WDC that Ferrari were just coming back in range of. He had to maximize points, and it payed off.

THE RULES

Rob Smedley, Massa's race engineer said the reason why Alonso passed was because he selected 3 gears at once, video showed here he applied 1/4 throttle in 2nd gear instead of full to let Alonso pass.
Stefano Domenicali said that Massa also had a gearbox issue, again the video proves this false.
Massa in the press conference magnanimously said that he had orders from the team, then later on said that it was his decision to let him pass.
3 team members, 3 different stories. 1 verdict. GUILTY!

People can't deny it was obviously a team order. But I think that F1 is the highest branch of motor sport and competition should also be of the highest standard. For me F1 isn't all about overtaking and fighting, for me it is more about accomplishments, like Senna against Prost in Monaco or Schumacher returning Ferrari to its former glory. There is no good or bad play, there is only winning.

@jamessvev Would you still say the same thing if you'd bet some good money on Massa winning on good odds? This victory was Massa's, no doubt about it. Alonso should be moved down to 2nd and get a grid penalty for the next race.
