MasterCraft Rewind 2009 - V-Drive versus I/O Review

i have just one question, i would really like to get a mastercraft, we have an I/O right now, but, my parents always insist in one thing, you said that a v-drive can do anything an I/O can do, so can you beach a v-drive?

oh and another thing, they make stern drive boats with the platform over the prop...

Its funny because yes an i/o has more control around the dock at times other than that its a pos no r&d into the hull or wake profile danger of the prop to swimmers. as for the x7 quote every mastercraft is tested on the water at the factory so idk if u bought it used or what but I find that hard to beliveve as a owner of a 84 S&S with the orginal shaft seal and no leaks

Despite the lack of precise control in reverse, with practice one can still learn how to maneuver around docks and tight spaces pretty damn well. Kind of fun developing that "knack" with the inboards.

I have a X7 that kept taking on water. Long story short, finally determined that the boat left the factory with a misaligned strut or shaft log that relates to incorrect prop shaft geometry. This in turn caused the OJ shaft seal to fail within a year. Do you think Mastercraft will accept responsibility for this?

I would spend my money with a boat company that takes care of thier customers which isn't Mastercraft.

in terms of maneuverability i still prefer my Z-Drive, especially at slow speed those mastercrafts are bitchy to drive...

i have to admit though for watersports it's your first choice..

i love my V-Drive and i'd never go back to a Z-Drive.. But what they conceal is, that you can't control the boat when you're driving backward....
