BMW X5 Struggling with a Snow Bank

I drive my 07 4.8 X5 all the time in the snow - It's amazing how good they go on or off road. Most X5 owners can't drive worth a f*&%^ on or off road but if you push these cars they will blow your mind. WV backroads and the 4.8 = insanity - I pass these country folks like there parked.

It's a BMW  xdrive, thought it was basicaly a RWD but it behaves like a FWD...rear wheels don't spin almost at all....

bmw awd systems suck bottom line when we bought our ml320 it was a choice over the ml and x5 and that following winter we were so happy we picked the ml it takes on snow like nothing whereas we saw x5's stuck everywhere

to the x5's defense, it's pretty decent in the snow if it had SNOW TIRES, this x5 is on summer tires

yes i agree it will make it a little better but i have driven both with summer tires a 4.4 x5 and a m55amg on snow and the merc just owned shortly after my dad bought a ml320 what a great car. Even if u watch a car show review they will say that this suv is usless the 5 series x drive wagon is just as good as the x5 lol

ok first of all the ml was the first to really start this new lux suv segment in 1998 and since then it has always been the better between x5 and ml. Bmw are faggot cars they try and make great cars by stretching it in too many directions. Reason being why people that buy a mercedes benz love them, is because they are awesome cars. Something a bmw owner would never understand. All bmw owners are cock ass bitches.

Look there is a button to turn off the traction control on the center console... Trust me once you do the X5 will freaking fly off anything you put in it's path...We did some serious desert crossing with ours... and if you forget to turn off the traction control everything screws up... (i.e traction control is meant to avoid tyre spinning which you don't need to avoid on when your car is digging itself)

You have to hold the gas for 1-2 seconds, so it can sense the slip and transfer power to the right wheel
