  • I have no idea whether the creators of this video knew what they were doing or what style they were represented but it's still getting the thumbs up for pure awesomeness. Shout-outs to Donny C and the OLs!

  • its incredible to me that the animators were able to capture the general timing if the moves.

  • Hahhaha it`s Shabba-Doo

  • yeah i sounds like she yells stop that nigga.....xDD hahahahhahahahha..lame video...

  • thats cute

  • Total WTF??? I just though about "Parappa the Rapper" watching this, LOL

  • @old2rtc So did I!!

  • the womans voice sounds as a baby.

  • so funy

  • Wtf XD

  • Im going to Japan. Haw haw haw<3

  • watch this high..

  • I DID I DID! CRAZY! Freaked me out a bit! Also at 0:14 it sounds like she yells STOP THAT NIGGA! WHAT DO U THINK?

  • hahahaha you're right !!!! XDXDXD

  • LOL woot

  • She said stop and go...

  • And yeah, lock is a lock not a rock.

  • Oh, you crazy japans..;D and "andyastro1" I agree that you have to know basics, but I don't think that dance gets lost by doing improper moves. Imagine, if we locked strictly in basic (OG invented) moves. IT would get really boring and not funky at all, so if you learned from skeeter that's really good, but that doesn't mean you have to lock like him. I think everyone who loves to lock knows the roots, but they're always trying to find something new about it and this clip IS something new ;P

  • and you're an idiot

  • HAHAHAHAHA.Whats with all the cats? Theres like 3 cats every time someone starts dancing. Also at 0:48 the weird cardboard blond girl or whatever it is looks happy. Look at her at 0:54. She got mad a the sudden.

  • The first move is called "double lock" instead of "double rock". I agree that you can't learn to lock by watching this cartoon, but if you're a kid this might be one way to get you interested in locking or in any kind of dance.

  • @sirElino sir, i think u would no this by now but just in case,

they pronounce "double rock", "double lock"

  • lmao

  • Are you jokers actually bitching about improper dance moves on two foot tall animated little characters on a Japanese cartoon? Seriously?

  • ahahaha

agree with you ...they must be joking...

oh my god...there are such things more interesting and serious to discuss about...

  • @sybrix Right on! And nice video =]

  • u guys are taking this dance thing too seriously? dance is dance. everybody got a style.. the way you do it ..somebody else sis going to do it differently . There s no wrong in dancing all you need is rhythm.

  • Ahh, well, at least I know how to dance now.

    -mika.

  • haha why are they dancing outside a church?

  • Ummm... Don Campbell's not dead.

  • THis is wack now I understand why the Lockerlegends are so mad about all the misinterpation behind locking. And Oh Yeah!!! RIP DOn Campbell

  • do you need to get your fact straight. don campbell is well and still teaching. read and get informed. idiot...........

  • same here NYminut, i think quite a few people think that black people can't speak other languages. I can speak a little mandrin and quite a bit of spanish, french and japanese.

  • That is the most amazing thing I have ever seen hehe. As for you people talking sh1t about the origins of locking - Get over yourselves!! Dance is for fun, this cartoon is purely messing around, get a sense of humour and lighten up dickwads

  • SHUT UP !! DO IT

    this is good shit

    dancing is dancing....stop talking shit

  • This is really wierd- i didn't know black people could talk chinise!

  • Japanese

  • some ones skin color doesn't determine their intellect and knowledge of another language im black and know quite a bit of japanese

  • Some of you guys are taking this waay too seriously. It's not the freaking cure for Cancer! Dancing is supposed to be fun...a primal instinct that just makes you feel good when you move to a beat. Who cares what you call "it" or the people who do it! Dancing was present way before any of us was born and will remain long after we're dead.

  • Their lockin in front of a church lol

  • As a side note go look up the half African American, half Japanese "Go Go Brothers". Find out who their father is and then try to say they dont know their history.

  • are they American or are they Japanese? isn't it easier to say half Black, half Japanese?

  • I want to learn how =(

  • LOL

  • Lockin is a very common dance style in japan I have lots of footage of lockin contests from there. Also one of my very good friends is Japanese and goes there every summer, and loves the lockin scene there. Japan is actually a big part of the history of locking so im not suprised to see it on a Japanese childrens program.

  • That's one hell of a squeaky voice.

  • I bet the people who made this video do not even know the background, history and traditions and locking. Not to mention that I have not seen the word "Locking" not even 1 time in this video. They must air this saying "Do this and you'll be cool", then the kids learn it, do it at parties, but do not even know what they're doing.

  • If someone oldschool asks them where did they learn these locking steps (steps only, cause there's absolutely no feeling in these lessons), they'd answer: "Locking? What is Locking? I'm just dancing cool!". What a shame. IMHO, this type of "learning" is just too wrong.

  • Hate 2 say this 2 ya but the japanese know more about the history of the dance than most young folk in america rite now. Tony Go Go(from the 2nd generation of lockers) taught a whole heap of them, so they know about our dances(u ever been to japan? it will freak u out.)

  • Yea, I've researched a bit and found out that Japan is really getting a lot of space in the locking scene nowadays... And I believe that stuff that they know more about the dance than the youngsters in america. In a certain way it's bit of a shame, but it's also very good that Locking is spreading to lotsa places around the world. Even here in Brazil we are starting to get a lotta folks who are really interested in learning how to Lock.

  • Well as far as Brazil goes, there are some folk out there claiming to be locking teachers telling students the wrong info about the origins of some of the movements: wristrolls coming from the use of nunchakus (Bruce Lee) 4 instance..Kinda like how Angola got co-opted & many believing it began in Brazil. Happens in most places where the feeling of the dance is not overstood &the culture overlooked

  • mob69 youre correct and that's how this dance gets lost, by showing kids improper moves......i actually learned how to lock by original skeeter rabbit from Creative Generation, and The LOCKERS....people are too lazy to read about the history of this dance form that was created in watts california by don campbell and many other pioneers that are still teaching and representing..........

  • You sound like one of those annoying 'I know the REAL story' people. I wouldn't want to hang out with you. Ever.

  • haha..yayy lockiiing ^^;; it's actually done really well @_@

  • "is there even black people in japan?"

    Yeah. My Godfather lives there.

  • yes, many

  • is there even black people in japan?

  • the dance is locking, not breaking, not popping, not "ghetto" or whatever th ehell you guys are calling it

i need to study this video ;(

  • How is this "ghetto"? Just because it involves black people doesn't make it ghetto.

  • lol you're true

  • CAL3000

"How is this "ghetto"? Just because it involves black people doesn't make it ghetto."

    AMEN!!

  • Actually asians are known for thei breakdancing talents.. and there are ghetto everywhere in every counrty so it's not too surprising. Haha this was cute!

  • That chick looks like micky mouse with her hair

  • the jap speaker said scooby doo

  • I find it funny that all the names of the dances are katakana copies of English words ^^;

  • To all you haters, you'll never understand the Campbellock! Farahl!

  • oh hell yeh it reached there years ago nessa...

Japan are the new 'world' (nearly there)

  • Oh God please tell me this didn't actually air in Japan... if the ghetto is reaching over there... we're so dead.

  • haha

  • LOl..that was..nice..=P

  • lol thats such a sick locking tutorial! ...funny and informative XD

  • Lol... actually is cristal Clear.. I should Try It :P

  • this is so cool and cute

  • rofl this looks like spcial ed kids dancing like there itchy lmao

  • OK, when the Japanese are giving out hip hop dance lessons you know the End of Days is near.

  • Heh heh heh. When it says stop and go, it sounds like "stop ma nigga" and when it says get down, it sounds like "ghetto town". :P

  • that's funny cuz it's only in your imagination...hmmm

  • japanese ghetto people... cool!
