  • hip hop !

  • @BQXXII faggot

  • @BQXXII Your a huge TROLL, gtfo.

  • @DollaTwo I know right!! lolz

  • love this album the only problem i have is i wish it was longer

  • powerful song!!

  • there's no better tribute to j Dilla

  • to neapula i wont swear out of respect for dilla and common but you need to cheak yourself.

  • Common made one of the best dedications in the world.

  • Drums are sick

  • @DollaTwo yeah drums are sick, i that's a paul simon sample.

    troyd34

  • common is muslim

  • @CrazyGayGUY1 man bruhhh i know kinda sad but i love him still GOD is Love JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY THOUGH

  • drums remind me of paul simon 50 ways to leave ya lover

  • @pistonear this is the rhythm indeed of 50 ways, these blacks are stealing everything, music included....

  • @NEAPULA It's not stealing because Common gets permission to use this music. The original artist aren't complaining because they get paid royalties from the people who sample them. It's sad to hear the black comment though. Your obviously racist and that just showed me that we still have a long way to go. I like Stevie Wonder, Air Supply, TOTO as well as earth wind and fire. Inspiration is something we draw from as humans. It's not a black or white thing.

  • @pistonear thats the sample bro

  • Common and J DIlla are hip hop.point,blank,period.

  • Drum break from Paul Simon - 50 ways to leave your lover (same on used on TLC - Unpretty). Dope song btw..

  • Sic! Steve Gadd drum break!

  • i was bumping this track one time in my whip and this chicken head in my ride was like who da fuck is this and this is wack.... i kick that chick out my ride

  • hahaha!

    well done!

  • lmaooo

  • great job man...empty brains dont understand good things....but next time let listen to it til she fills that in her brains...lol

  • empty brains understand more things than someone who brain is filled with bullshit

  • what you talkin about son?

  • an empty brain grows, one thats filled with bullshit well, its fulled with bullshit

  • @SoulSnatchaz love this

  • this is the best story I've heard all week hahahahaha

  • @damdra

    yo im a dillahead

    but this song is wack

  • @damdra -Lmao. That's too funny

  • @damdra

    That's hililarious!

  • @damdra yo you shoulda went rick james on that biznatch she dun fucked up big time

  • @damdra really ?

  • @damdra you should have stopped and ran over her dumb ass.

  • @damdra lol wow you shoudlve gave her a jewel to leave with, she has been conditioned from a society of the matirx

  • @damdra what was she doing in your ride? she shoulda still been in the kitchen

  • That already has people beliving "ohh no kanye is a good person and a CHRISTIAN because he wrote a song about God(Jesus). No i dont think so it doesnt work that way. One good thing in the past doesnt justify what you do for the present and future if you change your lifestyle anyways.

  • about the song this is my example, if i was to give someone 20 bucks with my album. People are going to think im giving free money away, why? because ive done it "once" and thats all you need to hook people. Even then i must say not everyone liked the song because it simply was talking about God. However it was just a another hit song for his album nothing more..

  • His Mom im sure was fine n healthy n probably religous but because her son got fame n glamour she started to pulled in aswell n what did she do a act of "pure vanity" with the whole surgery thing. She didnt need it. She Kanye's Mom so look like it, u know what im saying people. She never once had done this but it only took one time to kill her.

  • ok about kanye, first he was grateful with God about saving his life(when he first started). However weve seen grow up n the industry n he did get a lil "big headed". Saying "I am the best,I make hits". Well yea there wasnt anybody else on the Fu^&* radio!!!! duhh of course your gonna be big. But my point is is that he changed along with his family.

  • classic!!!

  • forever begins

  • it looks like jeremy piven is in the backround with a kangol type hat

  • I think that is Jeremy Piven in the background. he and Common are close as well. Jeremy got Common that part in Smokin Aces.

  • thats tight, i could see that since both are from chicago and all...and so am i :) CHI TOWN!

  • @trooper40below yeah they hang out alot

  • R.I.P J Dilla

  • last example: if one of those men owns a television station and he doesnt like you for any reason he wont air you. with radio its the same, movies, production, retail, sales n so forth. keep your minds open people peace out.

  • lol. get your bullshit out of here.

  • bussiness men who see you have money, power, and influence with people(the public) n want some callateral in return(meaning your dream life in this world) if you want to be a rockstar they'll make you a rockstar but if you betray it'll cost you your "rockstar fame n life along with people butting into your bussiness and even your family)". Its a mafia of men who built our country n run it with legit bussinesses but with no different morals then for an example, a Mexican mafia Drug Cartel.

  • shut the fuck up with tht illuminati bull shit nigga

  • thats why u never hear jay kanye n common say anything about religion and or God Jesus Christ, or even buddha etc. because if anyone would it would be a betrayal to the illuminati.Resulting in Not killing literraly(maybe) but more as in this world. They will make you nothing. In other words a nobody. They will destroy your fame your publicity and your bussiness. In some way they will kill you if you betray them.

  • Lol how about Jesus Walks, the song by Kanye?

  • they do have him(the illuminati) he used to be underground until everyone around kinda went up in the show bussiness and some music(mainstream speakingly) however it wasnt until kanye n jayz got really hard fame that common all of a sudden came out from behind the curtains as well. The illuminati is a secret soceity however its not just a "nerd renasaince fair" with these guys its about truly beleiving in "makers" of our country as if men were Gods themselves.

  • deep song. common made a classic album here

  • Yea, i dont understand the hate towards it.

  • its sad, the illuminati got common. he been around ye too long

  • what do you mean the illiminati got common

you do know the illuminati is a secret society right.free masons, knights templar shit etc

  • they have him in their ranks now, i think at least. kanye and jay are in it. and now common signed with ye and then hes namin his album universal mind control, deviating from his roots and then getting all these movie roles(from their connections). its the concept of wanting it so bad u;ll give anything for it. he wanted fame and they make u work for them for that

  • ok i getcha

  • yea i mean i could be wrong but its just mighty fishy u know

  • yeah i feel ya

i liked commons lyrics and overall music better when he was doing albums like one day itll all make sense and BE

  • THEY DID GET HIM!!!

  • love that song

  • rest in Peace to my nigga Dilla Dawg the illest!

One won't do and two is not enough for me no

  • buy the album, don't download it!

  • forever Common........forever Dilla

  • check out this trak on piano on my channel

  • true hip hop is truth u spread truth through poetry ur true hip hop even if its about love or violence truth is hip hop lies r not u can rap on a counrty song if its truth & poetry its hip hop les & fabracation r not its that simple ask the greats south bronx listen to krs the teaher he'll tell u personally

  • Kanye, true Hip-Hop??? nah, i don't think so, not in my books he's not!!!

  • not in mine either!

  • Hell yeah Kanye is not Hip Hop! Not even in the same room, block, city, state, country as hip hop

  • define hip hop-then.

  • hip hop is what you make it.

no one can tell you who is true hip hop or who isn't hip hop. hip hop is what you want it to be, it lives for us we don't live for it.

  • He is true Hip-Hop. Mos Def, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Kanye, Slum Village also...

  • de la soul, mf doom, pharohe monch, all artists of def jux records an stones throw baby....HIPHOP LIVES, those that say its dead are jus lazy!

  • right on the ball dude.

  • This whole song..tha meaning of it i think i wanna get the 2nd verse tatted on me ...ive once read from where that this song leave you with somethin to think about hours after hearing it ...and i must say dat is so true i believe this is one of the deepest hip hop songs ever played he should make a video

  • Common Is Coo... But The Drum Line On That song Sounds Like Some Shit Dj Quik Did... It Just Reminds Me Of Quik's Song if anything.

  • the drum line is from a paul simon song

50 ways to leave your lover

  • Steve Gadd made that groove legendary

  • like sehelesedikkesetorre said, the drum line is a paul simon song, which Djquik used for both versions of his song "50 wayz"...

  • If I'm not mistaken there's a reference to the Paul Simon song, "Victory won/In a world of hennessy and guns/Too young for the marches/But I remember these drums"

  • Yeah, the drums on the track are from "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon, slowed down, well known drums in the beathead community.

  • Great album! I love filmed studio sessions ^^

  • respect to common, i am going to check him out in copenhagen on thursday!!

  • This guy is such a humble man, I think this is one of the reasons why I am drawn to him. Such a family man and so humble! More men today should take note! And the respect and love he had for Dilla that's true friendship at its best! I don't usually comment here on youtube, but I just had to say something to commend not only this man but the many other musicians (not just of the hip-hop genre) who aren't afraid to show their feelings through their music!

  • This is the best album of 07. Kanyes was hot and had alot to do with this album as exec. on the joint, but Common goes a little deeper on his tracks on this one. Reminds me of Like Water for Chocolate - back to the top for Common.

  • kanye...great as usual

  • common made kanye make beats how dilla would....dilla was better than kanye and is top 5 best hip hop producers ever sad thing is half of u dont even knw who he is...but he's your favorite producers fav producer

  • well put

  • best album of 2007 so far.

  • did eminem use the drum sample on toy soldiers??

  • most likely.

  • biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig tune commons up there with kanye in the number 1 spot

  • Real nigga!

  • Yo common I can feel the pain you have in your voice while you're talkin' man, about JAY DEE. I can tell he was a friend before to be a great producer maybe the greatest beatmaker of all time. Keep makin' great songs like you do, so we'll remember him thru you brotha man.

    Rest in Peace JAY DEE.

    Peace Common.

  • Peace to you too nigga. Nice comment bro.....

  • I love you Common!! your concert last saturday was TOO REAL!

  • Please Don't Sell Out to the GAP...

  • I love this song, it takes you through so many emotions...

  • ok common has got to be the best MC of all time. Him and a few other artists (to name a few Kanye, Lupe Fiasco's kick push, Fort Minor and others) are the only people left to fix hip-hop. Luck to all who make real music and support it. Good job Common.

  • even if kanye isn't original, he's still unique in his own way because the last two common albums... kanye definitely went out of his way, compared to his solo albums and his commercial production. the nigga got many styles... shit, rza wasn't for everybody but he's still fuckin great, the same goes for kanye... if he ain't for you, well... snap fingers or kick snares

  • this is one my fav tracks on his new album. Common is so UNDERrated and it pisses me off. he creates 1 of the best lyrics/stories. i love the track..

  • I feel like crying... music is still out there.

  • I have to say Common is the realest rapper alive...his music is so real he's the only mc i would really bother listening to. The rest have talent but speak emtiness.

  • if you say kanye is original you are an idiot

  • its just sampling, every1 nowadays does it

  • lol the only originality, is the production, nothing to do with instruments lol

  • nowadays? it been goin on for decades

  • true that

  • I love this track. Man it just hits you

  • same here i love this track

  • This is my favorite song on the album, this shit just speaks to me in ways a song never really did before. The sample is soooo ill, and it just makes the song say something that you can't deny.

  • definately my favorite song..besides break my heart

  • My favorite song too, love the music.

  • Never heard of Kanye bringing out sampled shit that wasn't cleared... So in the end he pays his dues.

  • My favorite song on his new album

  • It's Paul Simon drums anyhow.

He sampled "50 ways to leave your lover."

  • Shut the Phuck up

Its all Good Music and room to breath

  • Its all Good Music and room to breath huh?...What if u made the music but someone else got the credit for it because you dont own your own orginals, so your labels get to dispurse ur music as they please and let others sample them. Kanye needs to learn how to be orginal. I use to think he would change the game but he's killing the orginality and creativity of music. For instance Barry White made the Girls, Girls, Girls music not Kanye look it up.

  • Get ova yourself man, if an artist has a problem with KANYE sampling them..then the artist will sue or make their complaints public..if they dont have a problem with it..why should you? The list is too long for the music that is sampling older songs, or inspired by older songs, theres nothing wrong with bringing back memories of the past GOOD music with artists like Common today. and Kanye is original and creative, no one does it like he does.

  • you guys its not like Kanye uses the whole track and raps over it. Production requires you to organize music, and hiphop artists use drum machines as well. So it's not a complete copy, just the arrangement and the cuts are original.

  • people act like ye is the first and only person to sample all the great producers done it or will do it look at the rza his beats are fire all simples nobody talk about the wu doing it. so stop hating on west

  • kanye stole j dilla drum kits >.<

  • lol he does it all time -.-

  • he does that as a tribute...
