you ran so fast it was too quiet at 1:17 to the tank part (except the jockey that was too far away and got the command to "Get closer to the survivors")
Don´t think it is possible to do it much faster (except if the tank would punch you at 1:48 so that you were flying 20 metres, popped your adrenaline and got there some seconds faster, but that would be extremly lucky!
@BestFilmproducer Not a bad idea! But in this case, I was trying to do the run on expert difficulty, so even a single tank punch would have killed me.
LordSlashStabL4D2 figured out a great use for that trick in his speed run of Swamp Fever 1. Instead of waiting for the boat to make its way over, he baited a tank into punching him all the way across the river. Youtube won't let me post the full URL to that video in this comment for some reason, but it's at .../watch?v=fhsKh7F8Fio
@ponybcurtis I know my description is super long on this video, but I tried to give an overview of the run and my thoughts before/during/after it. Part of the reason I killed the survivors was because the helicopter won't leave if they're alive, yes. Mostly I killed the survivors because they kill every common infected they see, and my whole strategy during the run was to exploit the game's default limit of 30 common infected by leaving the commons alive (and behind me) whenever possible.
@SAArete It's my fault actually. I didn't think to expand the description and therefore missed the explanation. I didn't know about the default maximum. That is really smart. You have it down to a science. Do you still play?
@januto I agree. LordSlashStabL4D2 is one of the people that are currently making a serious, official attempt at speed running all of L4D2, and his run (at least the one I've seen) shaved only a fraction of a second off of mine. They may have improved that since then, but I doubt it's anywhere near what redlerred7 is saying. Check out his channel for that run, if you haven't seen it. He planned his run off of mine, but his execution is much cleaner.
@redlerred7 How did you do that? This strategy can definitely be done a few seconds quicker, but 1:27 would be almost 20% faster. Is there a shortcut somewhere?
I just beat it in 2 minutes and 14 seconds!! Vid on my channel!

Try using custom mutations like crouched-sprinters, then set it to expert

WHy did you need to kill off the other survivors? Helicopter wont leave without them? Nice dodge of the tank, that was very close.

@ponybcurtis I still play occasionally, when I'm in the mood - maybe a couple times a week. I'm a pretty average player in multiplayer, though.

@ponybcurtis yeah unless all alive survivors are in it wont budge

I got 1 min and 27 sec one time, but it was advanced and I had a team of expert rushers
